This system we call the borehole communication device, in the media called life detector, this device is mainly used in coal mines, gold mines, etc., after a series of mine accidents, through the ground drilling to put this device into the underground, with the underground personnel to obtain video and audio communication and contact, but also to detect the space and environment of the underground survival.
The device was first called a "life information detector" in Pingyi, Shandong Province, in 2015. On December 25 of that year, the goaf area collapsed in the Wanzhuang gypsum mining area in Baotai Town, Pingyi County, Shandong Province, blocking the shaft and trapping 29 miners. Wen Hu led the team to the scene at the first time. When he and his team independently developed the life detector from the No. 2 borehole, four surviving miners were found 220 meters underground.

On January 10 this year, an explosion occurred at the Wat Mountain Gold Mine in Qixia City, Shandong Province, trapping 22 miners underground. After Wen Hu, who was out on a business trip, learned of the situation, he immediately rushed to the rescue scene with the team members.
In the face of the ever-changing new situation, the Wenhu team worked overtime day and night, taking the method of multi-drilling and 24-hour uninterrupted monitoring to search for trapped people underground. At a depth of 586 meters, the shaft was "wired" to 11 surviving miners, which played an important role in the successful rescue.
In addition to saving people, this set of "life information detector" equipment has also played a major role in saving national property. On March 28, 2009, an underground fire accident occurred in the Dafosi Coal Mine in Binxian County, with an annual output of 6 million tons. At the suggestion of Professor Wen Hu, the first time to evacuate the personnel, close the mining area, save tens of millions of mine equipment.
