In June 1863, it was summer, the current of the Dadu River was already very turbulent, the wind blowing from the other side of the river blew the flag of the army on the riverside whistling, the people present listened, the decadent morale was rekindled, they would rather die than surrender, but the leader had already made up his mind and wanted to exchange his life for their peace, so he calmly walked to the camp of the Qing army, with the determination to die,—— he was Shi Dakai, the wing king of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom.
On the day of the trial in the public court, before the execution was pronounced, the sky darkened, as if the heavens were mourning for the imminent departure of this generation of tyrants. Only to see Shi Dakai tied to a leg-thick tsubaki, there was no fear on his face, but a little more determined, several executioners with knives on him, knife after knife, many Qing troops around were watching.
Not long after, Shi Dakai's body was covered in blood, and there was no good piece of meat. Despite suffering from such a cruel Lingchi, Shi Dakai never said a word and generously died, and everyone present was shocked and secretly admired.
It is said that Shi Dakai was killed by Ling Ling for more than three thousand knives that day, but he did not open his mouth to shout, so what was supporting him and allowing him to say nothing? Doesn't he feel pain?
This is clearly not the case.
Barkin once said, "Faith governs the actions of the warriors." He was able to endure all hardships and sufferings and attain the goals he had chosen. ”
And everyone has faith and ideals in their hearts to support their own efforts and struggles, and at the same time, as Ba Jin said, faith can support a warrior to endure all hardships, to struggle and work hard, so as to realize the ideals he has set. Shi Dakai is such a typical example.
Everyone must have a certain understanding of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, which was led by Hong Xiuquan, and because Hong Xiuquan believed in worshiping God, everyone had been brainwashed by Hong Xiuquan when they joined the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom and went to worship God.
But Shi Dakai is an outlier.
At a time when everyone in the Tianping Heavenly Kingdom was blindly advocating and superstitiously believing in the worship of God, Shi Dakai's attitude toward the worship of God was diametrically opposed to that of everyone, and he was very disgusted by this superstitious behavior, and he always believed that the Taiping Rebellion was to overthrow the Qing government and repel foreign invaders, rather than relying on this superstition to incite the people, so as to achieve the effect of expanding the army.
The author believes that it is this belief in overthrowing the corrupt Qing Dynasty and saving the dawn people from the depths of the waters and fires, which has always supported Shi Dakai, under the suspicion and persecution of Hong Xiuquan, to run away in a negative spirit, from Tianjing to the vicinity of the Dadu River in Sichuan, although he finally died at the hands of the Qing army, but for the lives of his soldiers, for the future of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, for the taiping heavenly kingdom dream in his heart, for his faith, it is worth it, not a loss!

Shi Dakai was born in March 1831 in Gui County, Guangxi (now Qishi Township, Gangbei District, Guigang City), with his ancestral home in Heping County, Guangdong Province.
In 1847, Shi Dakai followed Hong Xiuquan and participated in the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Movement, beginning his legendary life.
In December 1851, the Yong'an system, Shi Dakai Jin was enfeoffed as the "Wing King Five Thousand Years Old", with power in his hands, still single-mindedly resisting the Qing army, and did not have the slightest dissent.
In February 1855, Shi Dakai severely damaged the Xiang Army's marine division at Jiujiang and Hukou, taking advantage of the victory to conquer Wuchang three times. In November, it marched into Jiangxi and captured a large area of territory in anhui, Gansu and Hubei provinces.
In 1857, during the Tianjing Incident, Shi Dakai was awarded the title of "Wing King of the Left Army", which was unique for a while. Later, due to Hong Xiuquan's unwarranted suspicion, he was also afraid of ending up with the same tragic fate as Yang Xiuqing, and ran away from Tianjing in a negative mood. Entering Jiangxi, he turned east and west to fight, trying to rescue the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom soldiers who were besieged by the Qing army in the southwest region, but ultimately failed.
In May 1863, he led his people deep into Sichuan to the Dadu River, and in order to save the lives of more than 2,000 of his soldiers, he surrendered to the Qing army, but sadly, after his surrender, the Qing army still shelled the south bank, and Shi Dakai's army was completely destroyed. He was escorted to Chengdu.
On June 27, 1863, the sky outside was gray, and at three o'clock in the afternoon, it became as black as ink, cutting with one knife after another, which should have been a screaming execution ground, and at this moment there was no sound, as if the heavens and the earth were quiet, only the remaining blood color was shocking. After more than three thousand knives, a generation of tyrants passed away.
The literary and martial prodigies are majestic, and the young man has made a name for himself with a long smile. Shi Dakai's life is extremely legendary, he has been brilliant for thirty-two years, and at the end, the general trend has gone, generously dying, hoping to exchange his own life for the peace of two thousand soldiers, and finally die heroically. Although Shi Dakai died, his generous determination to die and his noble belief in life will surely be passed down through the ages and admired by the world.
