The Independent Commission Against Corruption of Hong Kong, in the 2nd Sunset Case, indicted Hong Kong singer Wong Yiu-ming and former "speculators" Wong Nok-hin, accusing them of alleged fraud in the 2018 Legislative Council by-election on Hong Kong Island, which will be heard at the Eastern Magistrates' Court on Thursday (5Th). The charges allege that Au Nok-hin and Wong Yiu-ming were suspected of committing fraud in the Hong Kong Island Local Constituency in the 2018 Legislative Council by-election on 3 March 2018, i.e. providing entertainment to another person to induce the other party to vote for Au Nok-hsien in that election, with the entertainment being a singing performance.
Since the end of February 2018, Au has posted a number of posts on social platform pages announcing that he will hold a two-hour rally at Edinburgh Square in Central on the evening of March 3 of the same year. Hours before the rally, he posted another post on a social platform page announcing that Wong would perform at the rally. During the rally, Wong Yiu-ming sang two songs on stage. At the end of the performance, he appealed to those present at the rally to vote for Au Nok Xuan in the election. On 4 March 2018, Au's social media platform page shared a short video of the rally, including Wong's performance and his appeal to those attending the rally. Au Declared the video clip and the post announcing Wong Yiu-ming's performance at the rally as an election advertisement.
Under section 12 of the Elections (Fraud and Unlawful Conduct) Ordinance, it is an act of fraud for any person to provide food, drink or entertainment to another person, or to reimburse another person, in whole or in part, for the purpose of inducing that other person or a third person to vote or not to vote in an election or to certain candidates. A spokesman for the ICAC stressed that providing refreshments and entertainment to others during elections was a serious offence.
Friends who are familiar with Hong Kong affairs are no strangers to these two. Former member of the "speculators" Ou Nuoxuan has done a lot of anti-China and chaotic things in Hong Kong, instigated "Hong Kong independence" and supported "Taiwan independence," openly burned the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, demanded that his party change its program and introduce the so-called "democratic self-determination," and repeatedly participated in the black riot activities during the storm of the amendment of the law. As early as December 2019, he was ruled by the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal for immediate disqualification from the Legislative Council. On April 6 last year, Au Nuoxuan was convicted of two counts of "assault on police". On March 2 this year, Au Nuoxuan was again taken to the Lai Chi Kok detention center on suspicion of "conspiracy to subvert state power."
Singer Wong Yiu-ming
Singer Wong Yiu-ming is the lead singer of the Hong Kong band "Tammy Faction", and in recent years, he has frequently set foot in hong Kong chaos activities, participated in the "anti-national education" demonstration in 2012, supported "illegal Occupy Central" in 2014, and participated in singing related songs. In 2019, during the storm over the amendment of the law, he participated in illegal demonstrations and assemblies many times.
However, "one yard to one yard", their investigation by the Independent Commission Against Corruption this time is by no means the "different positions and different treatment" stated by the opposition, but their behavior of "exchanging votes for votes with singing", which has violated Hong Kong laws. It can only be said that they have done too many bad things, and now they have added another one.
Some people say that singing activities are very common in the election activities of different parties in Hong Kong, and there is no shortage of singing links in the pro-establishment campaigns. In this regard, Ip Kwok-chien, a conference adviser to the DAB and a member of the Executive Council who has participated in the election coordination work for many times, told the Hong Kong media that singing is indeed a common link in the campaign, but the key lies in the identity of the singer and the repertoire sung, especially Huang Yaoming himself is a singer, the song has commercial value, and it is inevitable to attract suspicion in law by publicly supporting a candidate in the event. Ip said that according to the past experience in coordinating election activities in the DAB, inviting singers in the campaign does have the risk of violating the law, so he will always avoid suspicion and will not find people active in the entertainment industry to perform on the spot.
Senior Barrister Tang Ka-wah, a member of the Executive Council, said that whether the singing event violated the law depended on the intention of the singers. It is clear from the clips on the Internet that Wong Yiu-ming publicly appealed for support for Au Noh-hwan after singing the song, so legally this is both a "concert" and an "election activity".
Carrie Lam and others criticized the education association to rob the education community
For many years, the Hong Kong Education Association has carried out anti-China and chaotic activities in the name of teachers' organizations, smeared the police and the SAR government for a long time, obstructed the development of schools' anti-epidemic and educational reform, and instigated violence through "independence". The Hong Kong Education Bureau recently announced that it will completely terminate its working relationship with the Education Association. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor took the initiative to respond to a question about the cancellation of the working relationship with the Education Association at a press conference today (2nd), she stressed that the current government attaches great importance to education work, has also visited the Education Association during the election campaign, and invested an additional 5 billion new educational resources after taking office, at that time, she hoped to walk with teachers, but described that in the storm of the amendment of the law, many students did not have the awareness of abiding by the law, and some teachers participated in the organization and even arrested, which made the authorities determined to get to the source. Carrie Lam stressed that she fully supports the Education Bureau's decision this time, "not because of an editorial, an article", stressing that under the National Security Law, no organization can touch the bottom line.
Huang Junyu, president of the Federation of Education, said on a radio program today (2nd) that the storm over the amendment of the law has been characterized as a "color revolution", and the whole process of investment and participation of the Association will play a role in fueling the waves, and will certainly be investigated politically, and I believe that other organizations that have participated in the "anti-amendment" activities will also be traced one by one.
Huang Junyu described the Education Bureau's resolute attitude, and the statement proposed "four noes", including no longer holding any meetings and no longer handling any referral cases, which is equivalent to severing all contacts. In the past, the Education Association was often criticized as a political superiority over the profession, and almost degenerated into a political party. Huang Junyu believes that the Education Association may collude with foreign forces, and the government should investigate in depth.
Wu Zhibin, a member of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and Dong Zhiying Memorial Middle School of Renji Hospital, said in an interview with Hong Kong media that the Education Association used social trust to become a "political entity" and promoted chaos in the education sector. Wu Zhibin believes that the Announcement of the Education Bureau to fully terminate the working relationship with the Education Association is "very timely!" This is an improvement for the work of rectifying the mess! He believes that the SAR government should further investigate whether the Education Association is suspected of more illegal acts in accordance with Hong Kong laws, and the SAR government needs to take more precautions against political activities in various forms.

The members of the group also cut off the membership card of the Teaching Association on the spot and called on other members to withdraw from the Teaching Association. The group reminds other educators to think twice about continuing to be a member of the Teaching Association or facing legal risks.
Office in Hong Kong: Hong Kong judicial organs cannot be ignored in handling cases in accordance with the law
Hong Kong's first national security law case was sentenced earlier (30th), and the defendant, Tang Yingjie, was sentenced to nine years in prison for inciting separatism and terrorist activities. According to the news of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong on 2 July, in response to politicians from Germany and other countries who made irresponsible remarks about the sar's high court's judgment of the first Hong Kong-related national security law case in accordance with the law, blatantly slandered the Hong Kong national security law, interfered in the SAR's rule of law and judicial independence, and nakedly interfered in Hong Kong affairs and China's internal affairs, the spokesman of the Foreign Ministry's office in Hong Kong expressed strong dissatisfaction and resolute opposition.
The spokesman pointed out that the judicial organs of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region handle cases impartially in accordance with the provisions of the law, conform to the legal authority, and follow the legal procedures, and solemnly deal with criminals who endanger national security. Some political forces have repeatedly pressed the judicial actions of the SAR to shield and extricate anti-China and chaotic Elements in Hong Kong, that is, they are afraid that Hong Kong will not be chaotic and that the National Security Law will be implemented, and their despicable plots to trample on the rule of law and endanger Hong Kong's prosperity and stability under the guise of "rule of law" and "freedom" have been clearly exposed.
The spokesman reiterated that Hong Kong is a special administrative region of China and is not a "political show" for a small number of interventional forces to make a big fuss. We urge relevant politicians to have a clear understanding of the facts, immediately stop obstructing the SAR's law enforcement and justice, immediately stop undermining Hong Kong's prosperity and stability, and immediately stop interfering in Hong Kong affairs and China's internal affairs.
