Two celebrities who cannot be avoided in the Department of Chinese and the Department of History - Hu Feng and Zhou Yang (IV)

author:Green planted home

At the beginning of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Hu Feng ran to Wuhan to found the journal "July", at that time, in addition to the official publications, the private publications may only be "July", and a large number of writers and poets surrounded Hu Feng to form the "July Poetry School".

The main viewpoints of Hu Feng's literary and artistic thought are: "There is life everywhere", "writing truth" and "subjective fighting spirit". He emphasized the subjective spirit of the writer, rather than the class, organization, and discipline of the writer.

At the beginning of the founding of New China, Hu Feng regretted it, felt that he did not keep up with the pace of the party, and from November 1949 to January 1950, he wrote a long poem of 4,600 lines in just three months, "Time Has Begun!" 》。 He shouted, "The time has begun!" The motherland has been reborn! The people are standing up! However, compared to Zhou Yang, he still walked slowly. He could only complain helplessly: "But the flag is in the hands of others, and others use the flag to suppress me and beat me, what other way can I do other than work with sincerity?" ”

Among the young writers that Hu Feng vigorously supported, there was one named Shu Wu, who was also famous later. In 1945, Shu Wu published an article entitled "On Subjectivity" in the journal founded by Hu Feng, which theoretically explained Hu Feng's "subjective fighting spirit". The spirit of the article was inconsistent with Mao Zedong's "Speech at the Yan'an Forum on Literature and Art," and it was soon criticized by literary and art theorists within the Party, and this criticism continued after the founding of the People's Republic of China.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Shu Wu could not stand the long-term criticism and actively pursued progress, so in 1952 he published "Learning from the Beginning [Speech at the Yan'an Literary and Art Forum]", which severely criticized himself. Shu Wu also said in the article: "Ten years ago, when the "Speech" was published, certain literary and art workers in the Kuomintang-ruled areas believed that these principles were right, but they were nothing more than Marxist-Leninist ABC. This sentence implicated Hu Feng and exposed Hu Feng's contempt for the "Speech" at that time, which was a major blow to Hu Feng.

What is more serious is that Shu Wu said in another publicly published article that year: "The deep-rooted bourgeois literary and artistic ideology has made us completely adopt a confrontational attitude toward the leadership of the party's literary and artistic policy." In this way, we will inevitably form a small literary and artistic clique,...... At that time, with Hu Feng as the core and often publishing works in Hope magazine, a few of us really formed such a small literary and art group. "Characterize yourself and Hu Feng within a group."
