Mr. Wu Zuoren has successively served as the president of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, the chairman of the China Artists Association, and the vice chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles.

Mr. Wu Zuoren's works are rich and diverse, including oil paintings, drawings, Chinese paintings, etc., his Chinese paintings are not only extensive and novel, but also the yaks and pandas have never been included in traditional Chinese paintings. The novelty of Wu Zuoren's Chinese painting has a multi-faceted presentation, and there are new evolutions and expansions in many aspects such as artistic values, artistic creation concepts, and the spirit of brush and ink in Chinese painting.

He advocated "art for life", arguing: "Art is not only a reflection of the soul, the expression of thought, and a language without words, so it is 'into the world', it is 'era', and it can be understood." What the public can understand is immortal. Therefore, we must go to society to understand society and find nature in nature. Therefore, even the themes of flowers, birds, grasses and insects can express the emotions and styles of an era through artistic techniques such as "Bixing", rather than just sticking to and being limited to the so-called "bookish feelings" of the traditional literati. Wu Zuoren adheres to the realistic view of creation, and in his Chinese paintings, there is both the tender lyricism of the breeze and the moon, and the spirit of the excitement. Wu Zuoren, who came from a professional oil painting class, did not ignore the value of Chinese painting, on the contrary, he also required students who studied Western painting to learn a little calligraphy and paint a Chinese painting. He believes that the brush and ink of Chinese painting have more shaping power and generalization power than oil painting.
