After collation, classification and identification, a total of 1 individual of the red-brown leg locust was collected.

The red-brown spotted locust belongs to the general family of orthoptera locusts, and is mainly distributed in Beijing, Hebei, Shaanxi, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Fujian, Taiwan, Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi, Yunnan, Anhui and other regions. Females are 32 to 34 mm long, forewings 26 to 27 mm long, males 24 to 27 mm long, and forewings 19 to 22 mm long, reddish-brown to grey-brown. The head is short, about 1/2 of the back plate of the front chest, and the top of the head is short and flat, forming rounded corners with the face bulge. The posterior head has an inconspicuous midibar line, the face is slightly inclined, with a thick incision, the middle eye is flat above the eye, the lower is concave, the lateral ridge of the face is almost straight, the compound eye is long ovate, and the antennae are filamentous. The dorsal plate of the anterior chest is flat, densely covered with small notched dots, the mid-thoracic ridge is obvious, there is no lateral ridge, the 3 transverse grooves are obviously cut off the mid-ridge line, the posterior transverse groove is located slightly anteriorly in the middle of the dorsal plate, the anterior thorax dorsal plate is straight, the posterior edge is protruding in a rounded shape, the lateral segment is slightly longer than the height, the anterior thorax ventral plate is cylindrical, straight, the apical round, and the lateral lobes of the mid-thorax ventral plate are connected to each other. The posterior femoral segment is stubby and short, with fine teeth on the upper rudiment, about 3.3 times longer than the width, the posterior tibial segment has no outer end spines, and the tarsal segment is long in the middle of the paw, longer than the tip of the claw. The forewings are narrow and long, exceeding the apex of the posterior femoral segment. Male supraanal plates are long, almost parallel on both sides, sharply pointed at the apex 1/4, and have a longitudinal groove in the semi-central semi-center of the supraanal plate base. The tail whiskers are long, exceeding the tip of the supra plate, and the end is slightly curved upwards and inwards, with a broad base, a thin middle, and a slightly enlarged apex. The lower genital plates are tapered and rounded at the apex. Females are triangular in the supra plate, with a transverse groove in the middle and a longitudinal groove in the center of the basal half.
