On May 25, the police of the Forest Public Security Bureau of Dengkou County went to the key project area of the National Ecological Environment Construction in Dengkou County to carry out inspections, and when they inspected a small lake in the project area of the third phase of the ecology, they found that birds such as crested ibises, white bone tops, and red-billed diving ducks were staying here. In addition to these kinds of birds that are already well known to everyone, the police also found five or six birds with very good diving ability and a body length of more than 20 centimeters, the shape and swimming posture are very cute, the police initially thought that it was a crested ibis, which had just hatched, and photographed its figure. After querying and comparing, it was found that this was a bird species that had not been found in the mouth of the brick before- the small partridge.

It is understood that the little partridge is a bird of the family Grebe, listed in the IUCN Red List of Endangered Species (IUCN) as a non-threatened species, and included in the "List of Beneficial Terrestrial Wild Animals Protected by the State or of Important Economic and Scientific Research Value" issued by the State Forestry Administration on August 1, 2000, which is a protected animal. After checking the data, no information about the bird was found in Dengkou County before. The discovery of this bird species has further enriched the bird resources of Dengkou County.

Little Partridge

  The Little Partridge is a bird of the family Grebe. The small partridge is about 26 cm long, has a wingspan of about 42 cm, weighs 100-200 g, and has a lifespan of 13 years. The occipital part has a black-brown crown, the adult has a black-brown mixed-brown crumpled collar on the upper neck, and the upper body is black brown and the lower body is white. Good at swimming and diving, often diving for food, feeding on aquatic insects and their larvae, fish, shrimp, etc., usually alone or in small groups. It is mainly distributed in Eurasia, Africa, India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Japan and other countries and all over China.
