"Fraudulent" health insurance?! Japan triad cadres were arrested for medical treatment after cutting off their fingers.
Japan police recently arrested Masahiro Nouchi, a cadre of the underworld force "Rokudaime Yamaguchi-gumi Kodokai", but the reason for this arrest was not because of his extortion, but for "fraudulently" obtaining medical insurance. In February last year, he cut off one of his fingers and went to the hospital to receive medical insurance treatment, waiving about 45,000 yen (about 2,137 yuan) of treatment fees that should have been borne by himself. The Japan National Health Insurance (Japan Medical Insurance) stipulates that self-harm such as intentional injuries cannot be used in principle, and he did not truthfully inform the doctor that he cut off his finger when he visited the doctor, so he was suspected of defrauding medical insurance fees.
