The 4th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Culture and Arts Festival (hereinafter referred to as the "Festival") will be held from October 19 to November 24.
Co-organised by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the People's Government of Guangdong Province, the Government of the Hong Kong S.A.R. and the Government of the Macau S.A.R. Region, this year's festival is themed "Diversity and Integration: Creating Unlimited Opportunities".
During the festival, more than 200 performances and more than 100 exhibitions, forums and other cultural exchange activities will be held in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. Nearly 100 famous artists will gather in 11 cities in the Greater Bay Area to jointly draw a colorful "new picture" of literature and art in the Bay Area.

Show the achievements of the in-depth integration of literature and art in the Bay Area
The opening performance of this year's festival will be held in Hong Kong, which will showcase the new achievements of the in-depth integration of arts and arts in the Bay Area.
On the evening of 19 October, renowned composer and conductor Tan Dun, together with members of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra and Macao Orchestra, will form the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cultural and Arts Festival Orchestra" to present the world premiere of "Sound River", which will be screened at the same time as 16 video clips shot by Tan Dun over the course of 12 years...... The cultural and art festival will kick off with the melodious music of light and shadow.
During the festival, the Guangdong Art Troupe will perform in Hong Kong and Macao, presenting a number of literary and artistic masterpieces with the characteristics of the Bay Area and the charm of Lingnan.
Shenzhen's "hit" dance drama "Wing Chun" will present a special edition, fully integrating Hong Kong's creative forces. Young Hong Kong conductor Fung Ka-chi-h, local orchestra The Symphonic Pops, and local graduate Wong Dan Yeung of the School of Dance of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts will join the line-up.
Produced, composed and sung by singer George Lam, the theme song "Wing Chun" written by Chan Siu-ki will also appear on stage to show the "Hong Kong style Cantonese rhyme".

The achievements of in-depth co-creation between Hong Kong and Macao artists and art troupes in mainland cities in the Bay Area will also be showcased:
Xinghai Concert Hall on Ersha Island in Guangzhou presents the "Hong Kong Chapter" of the original work "Music in · Dance World", with renowned multidisciplinary artist Tsang Man-tong as the artistic director, director and choreographer, leading Hong Kong dancers and musicians from the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra to reinterpret the works of Ravel and Piazzolla.
The Legend of the White Snake will also be presented by Foshan Cantonese Opera Company, featuring the director of the Foshan Cantonese Opera Company and first-class actor Li Shukan and Hong Kong veteran Cantonese opera singer Law Ka-ying, recreating the love story of Pak So Ching and Xu Xian in the form of light and shadow.
Literary and artistic masterpieces showcasing the characteristics of the Greater Bay Area will be staged on the stage of Macao. Under the baton of internationally renowned conductor Ye Cong, Marisa, the new generation of Fado diva of Portugal, will present her voice to the Macao Chinese Orchestra, showcasing the beautiful fusion of Western poetry and Chinese melody.
The Macao Chinese Orchestra will also collaborate with renowned Cabo Verdean singer Tito Paris to present a new repertoire of Chinese music, showcasing the unique charm of the harmonious blending of Chinese and Portuguese cultures.

In order to promote the in-depth integration of art in the Bay Area, the "Bay Area Opera" - Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Stage Art Boutique Tour will also be launched in Bay Area cities, bringing a number of Cantonese stage art masterpieces such as the dance drama "People Live Among the Flowers", the Cantonese opera "Cheng Ying Saves the Orphan", "The Story of Jing Hai", and the musical "It Doesn't Snow Here in Winter".

This year's cultural and art festival is full of famous artists. A number of music "celebrities" from top international art groups and well-known music schools will join the 5th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Music Festival, bringing music fans an audio-visual feast that crosses borders.
In addition, industry events such as the 4th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Literature Week and the "Drama Night" - the 8th Chinese Theatre Festival Annual List Release Ceremony will be held one after another, demonstrating the new momentum for the high-quality development of literature and art in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Young literary and artistic talents in the Bay Area are emerging
On the stage of the cultural and art festival, more and more young literary and artistic talents in the Bay Area have emerged, "showing" the new vitality of literary and artistic innovation and creation.
In late October, the dance drama "Shadow in the Cup" will be staged at the Foshan Grand Theater. A group of young dancers from Hong Kong will use the form of dance theatre to overlap reality and fantasy, and unleash the creative vitality of young people in the Bay Area on the stage.
The 2024 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area University Student Film Week will open in early November. With the theme of "Youth Dreams, Flying Shadows", this year's Film Week is composed of the launching ceremony, film screening, film review collection, short film collection, script collection, Bay Area Young Filmmaker Creation Training Camp, "Evening Breeze FUN Screening" movie night and other sections, showing the youthful vitality and spiritual outlook of Bay Area college students in the new era in the form of light and shadow.
On October 31st, the Hong Kong Wave Concert "Cantonese Singing and Cantonese Pop" will kick off at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Theatre. Young singer-songwriters and bands from Hong Kong, China and the Mainland will perform a number of original music and pop songs, showcasing the talent and creativity of the creators from both places.
Children and youth choirs from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao will also gather at the Hong Kong City Hall to participate in the 2024 Zhuhai-Hong Kong-Macao Choral Concert "I Sing My Song" on 10 November.

In order to promote the cooperation and exchange of young artists in the three places, the launch of the first Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Literary and Artistic Backbone Exchange Season sounded the "rallying call" for literary and artistic youth in the Bay Area:
Art, drama, dance and art backbones from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao will go deep into the professional Cantonese opera troupe, the "two new" literary and artistic clusters, master studios, cultural venues and Lingnan characteristic cultural tourism blocks to organize and carry out cultural performances and cultural activities.
More youth-oriented cultural and artistic activities will be launched in various parts of the Bay Area. The Shenzhen Magic Festival will organize young magicians to visit the Matteo Ricci School in Macau to showcase their vitality and exquisite skills to the young people of Macau. The first Guangdong University Student Quyi Invitational Competition will also kick off in Zhaoqing University, providing a platform for college students to display and communicate.
Create a "literary carnival" shared by the whole people
A splendid "Art Carnival" will provide high-quality cultural supply for the people of the Bay Area.
During the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Animated Film Week, a domestic classic animated film exhibition will be held, and 9 "Guoman" masterpieces such as "Baolian Lantern", "Strange Tales from the Book of Heaven" and "Journey to the West: The Return of the Great Sage" will be screened in theaters and universities in the Bay Area.

Cities in the Bay Area present a unique "cultural feast" to the audience:
Huiyang District, Huizhou City, launched the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Guitar Culture and Art Festival, with a variety of exhibitions and competitions, to open an "immersive" guitar culture journey for citizens and tourists;
In Shenzhen, the 2024 Lianhuashan Grassland Music Festival will invite top orchestras at home and abroad to perform 7 outdoor classical music concerts in 5 days to showcase the high level of the outdoor classical music festival in the Greater Bay Area.
The 2024 Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Week and Foshan Autumn Colors Event, and the 2nd "Art in Qiaoshan - Guangdong Nanhai Land Art Festival 2024" will also bloom in Foshan, where modern art and classical culture complement each other.
The 4th Zhuhai Arts Festival is part of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Arts and Culture Festival this year, and will bring a series of performances and exhibitions. The local original dance drama "Water Bride", the national dance drama "Li Bai" of the China Opera and Dance Theater, and the youth version of "The Peony Pavilion" of the Suzhou Kunqu Opera in Jiangsu Province were staged in turn. The Zhuhai Arts Festival will launch the "Zhuhai-Hong Kong-Macao Literary and Art Exhibition" section to comprehensively showcase the latest achievements of Zhuhai-Hong Kong-Macao literary and artistic exchanges. A number of international events will also be held in Macao, such as the Annual Art Exhibition between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries and the China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Picture Book Fair.
11 song and dance troupes from all over the world will also take to the streets and alleys of Macao to present a series of singing and dancing performances that blend East and West, and perform a moving movement of exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations.
