Through a wealth of cross-border cultural and creative activities, the competition will link young art and design talents from all over the world, and promote the "most aesthetic village in China" to become an "international design town". This event was guided by the People's Government of Jimei District and hosted by the Jimei Sub-district Office.
This year marks the 150th anniversary of Mr. Kah Kee's birth, and the 2024 Jimei Village Youth Art Design Competition will take this opportunity to further promote the spirit of Kah Kee and inherit the culture of overseas Chinese, southern Fujian and Xuecun.
It is reported that the Art and Design Development Center of Jimei Village, which will be put into physical operation this year, is committed to attracting young artists, designers, commercial brands and digital nomads from all over the world, promoting the construction of art creation and intellectual property libraries through online and offline linkage, becoming an international platform for extensive display and in-depth cooperation of global creators, and finally forming an art and design exchange and industrial innovation base with world influence.
All entries in the Youth Art Design Competition will be included in the intellectual property database of the "Jimei Village Art and Design Development Center". Contestants will work with the "Jimei Village Art and Design Development Center" to establish a talent resource pool of artists, designers and other talents.
Top Hat Creative Award Tribute to Mr. Kah Kee
According to the organizers, this competition also has a series of wonderful activities as a special gift to Mr. Tan Kah Kee - Kah Kee Topper Global Cross-border Creative Award.
With "top hat" as the creative theme, it will be open to young creative designers over 18 years old from all over the world, and the competition objects include artists, designers, teachers and students of colleges and universities, design studio managers and enterprise employees. By inviting 150 creative talents full of passion and innovative spirit from all over the world, using cross-border creativity and innovative interpretation of traditional culture, we will jointly create 150 unique creative top hats to pay tribute to Mr. Kah Kee. The Creative Awards will be open for entries from August 30 to October 1, and an exhibition will be held in Jimei Village from October 15th to October 20th.
In addition, this event will also explore the innovative application of virtual images, national tide patterns and intangible cultural heritage elements in the field of digital art, and give new life to traditional culture through the in-depth integration of design and culture. Through in-depth excavation of southern Fujian architectural patterns and intangible cultural heritage symbols, tracing their historical evolution and development, combining AI and digital technology, we give new vitality to traditional patterns with innovative means, and show the unique charm of China's top design. Artists such as intangible cultural heritage artists, illustrator designers, and IP designers will cooperate and co-create exhibitions in Jimei Village from November 16th to November 22nd.
