On September 11, the League of Legends US server announced some changes to version 14.19, which is not the match version of the 2024 World Championship, but the first version of the third stage of S14. Update 14.19 brings a series of sweeping changes to the game, which were explained by the League of Legends developers in 14.18 even before the official server launches. While there are no specific numbers yet, the developers have given us a glimpse of what's going to happen in 2025.
As Riot Games prepares for the 2025 preseason season, they're making a number of system-level changes, some of which will be available earlier this month. While the specific impact behind these changes has yet to be determined, the development team has outlined some of the broad and comprehensive changes we will see.
From a few new signal cues (hopefully they'll last longer than a decoy signal) to banners announcing target generation, the gameplay experience will make a big difference. In addition, the developers have confirmed that almost all of the legendary equipment in the game will be nerfed in several ways, with the goal of making them weaker overall.
The development team claims that almost all Legendary gear will be nerfed, making it 5-15% less cost-effective. Their purpose is to reduce the potential of the snowball and make the hero's skills stand out more than the equipment they use.
They made the pace of the game much faster than they would have liked at all stages by claiming that players are now better at developing than they have been in the past few years, resulting in higher payouts from gear. Instead of weakening League of Legends' developmental abilities and allowing players to earn less gold, they made those coins slightly less efficient than before.
As it stands, the designers have adjusted the strength of each type of equipment, whether it's a shooter, a mage, or a tank. Due to the increase in the total price of equipment and the lower attribute bonus of equipment, the hero's combat effectiveness under the same economy is even weaker than the current official server. Warrior heroes are probably the ones who benefit the most, as the hero's durability has decreased, but the warrior equipment is still very strong, with damage and tanduki.
Players can now assign a piece of equipment to their purchasing queue, showing how much gold they need to get it. There will also be a "one-click purchase" feature in the game, which will allow you to provide you with as many small items as possible to complete a large purchase without entering the store listing.
Additionally, if a player leaves the base without spending money on equipment, they will now receive a system reminder prompting them to return to the base and return to their line with the correct gear. These changes improve the player experience and make the purchase of gear more streamlined, benefiting both new and experienced players.
The last notable change is the signal change, which will allow players to be notified of anything from low health to potions when target resources are about to spawn on the map, thus increasing the player's ability to focus on the game. In addition, if a teammate is invaded in the jungle, a map signal will fly out to alert the player to support in time. The signaling system adds a "my mistake" signal to communicate to teammates that you know you've made a mistake, which can ease the awkward situation when we make a mistake.
