AI innovation from the data center to the edge
With the rapid rise of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and large language models (LLMs), enterprises are facing challenges from two fronts. On the one hand, the generation and use of data is exploding; On the other hand, there is an urgent need for enterprises to quickly extract significant value from massive amounts of data. As storage demands continue to climb, the performance, scalability, and efficiency of storage solutions are critical to the AI technology stack. Western Digital offers a broad portfolio of storage products designed to meet the diverse needs of all phases of the AI data cycle. Highlights of the Western Digital show include:
Data Centers:
• Western Digital showcased its leading data center solutions announced in June, including industry-leading PCIe™ Gen5 enterprise solid-state drives (eSSDs) designed for compute-intensive applications, new 64TB eSSDs for storage-intensive applications, and 32TB ePMR SMR HDDs for massive data storage needs.
< Ultrastar DC SN861 SSD >
• Western Digital demonstrated the ultra-high-capacity 128TB BiCS8 QLC eSSD in the construction of a high-speed AI data lake and a massive data storage performance application scenario.
• Western Digital's new technology converts PCIe SSD signals to Ethernet, allowing PCIe eSSDs to be flexibly deployed in either Ethernet switching or PCIe switching architectures, as is the case with the enhanced OpenFlex Data24 4200 NVMe-oF™ storage platform. Disaggregated NVMe-oF storage technology is a key driver for making AI workflows more efficient and manageable. Come and enjoy the amazing demonstration of the Ingrasys ES2100 storage system. The Ingrasys ES2100 storage system uses NVIDIA Spectrum Ethernet switching technology and NVIDIA GPUDirect™ Storage (GDS) technology to enable real-time visualization and analysis of large-scale 3D datasets. This demo demonstrates a direct data path between NVMe-oF storage and GPU memory, enabling scalable, high-performance, and efficient utilization of storage and GPU resources in intensive AI applications. RapidFlex Interposer is now generally available and is currently being licensed by Ingrasys.
