Up to now, a number of national standards in the field of pet food have been approved to provide a basis for the quality supervision of pet food products and promote the improvement of pet food quality. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has made great efforts to strengthen the supervision and management of pet feed, formulated and issued a series of normative documents, guided local governments to carry out pet feed management in accordance with the law, standardized the order of the pet feed market, and continuously improved the quality and safety of pet feed.
In the next step, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs will work with the State Administration of Market Supervision and other relevant departments to actively promote the development of pet-related standards and give full play to the leading role of standards; Strengthen the supervision and management of pet feed, further improve the pet feed management system, encourage and support pet feed enterprises to develop and create new products, and promote the quality of pet food in mainland China.

For the supply of pet health services (such as pet medicine, pet medical treatment, etc.), the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has continuously strengthened the management of pet medicine, diagnosis and treatment, and epidemic prevention, guided the development of pet health services, and made the following three actions:
1. Through comprehensive measures such as supporting special use, encouraging transformation, and optimizing approval, we will continue to enrich the varieties of pet medicines.
2. Improve the relevant laws and regulations of the animal diagnosis and treatment industry, and further standardize the management of institutions and veterinary personnel engaged in animal diagnosis and treatment activities.
3. The joint State Administration for Market Regulation has carried out a special rectification action to standardize the order of pet diagnosis and treatment, which has effectively standardized the order of pet diagnosis and treatment.
The State Administration for Market Regulation has approved the issuance of a number of national standards in the field of pet diagnosis and treatment, providing standard support for pet disease prevention and control, disease diagnosis and treatment, and management of diagnosis and treatment sites.
In addition, the State Administration of Financial Supervision encourages and supports property and casualty insurance companies to develop and design differentiated insurance products based on the characteristics of pet-related health risks and liability risks.
In the next step, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs will continue to optimize veterinary drug approval services, study and improve the R&D and access system for pet drugs and medical devices; In conjunction with relevant departments, strengthen the supervision of animal diagnosis and treatment activities, and further standardize the order of pet diagnosis and treatment; Optimize the continuing education mechanism of practicing veterinarians and promote the continuous improvement of pet diagnosis and treatment.
