This robot is called Musashi (literally translated as Musashi). First of all, autonomous driving can be divided into two types, one is to install various cameras, lidars, positioning systems and processors on the car, so that the car can be directly controlled. The other is to install various sensors on the robot body, like Musashi, and let it sit on the main driver instead of operating it.
Musashi is special in that unlike the stiff robots in the factory, its entire structure is driven by imitation of human muscles, so its limbs are softer and more elastic, and it can sit in the car seat like a person.
The robot driver is in place, let's see how it drives? Driving mainly depends on three places, operating the steering wheel with your hands, stepping on the accelerator with your feet, and seeing all directions. Switch to the robot, which uses a trained dynamic module to operate the pedals and take the pedals!
If Musashi recognizes a person, he will press the brake pedal and restart the accelerator pedal when no one is there. If Musashi recognizes the car horn, he will also press the brake pedal again.
Press the brake pedal when the traffic light is judged to be red, release the brake pedal when the traffic light turns green, and turn right at the intersection with the steering wheel operation of the static module. It turns the steering wheel quite smoothly, first turn the steering wheel as far as possible with both arms, release the left hand, the left hand returns to the original position, release the right hand, the right hand returns to the original position, and after turning again, the steering wheel has been turned 180 degrees.
But Musashi also had a lot of problems, for example, he could only adjust the accelerator pedal, not the brake pedal. When going uphill or downhill, you can't adjust the speed of the car well, and you can only adjust the speed by pressing the brake pedal. Musashi's steering wheel operation is also not good, he does not turn the operation by grabbing the steering wheel, but by pressing the steering wheel.
Even so, it is still difficult to release and hold the steering wheel because the fingers can sometimes get stuck in the steering wheel and it cannot save itself. The visual identity is even more outrageous, and it can't be turned on at night, because Musashi can't recognize pedestrians and traffic lights at night.
