Tradition believes that Chinese writing began with the oracle bone inscriptions that were popular in the Shang and Zhou dynasties, but at the entrance of the "Treasures of Ink - Hubei Provincial Museum Collection of Gold and Stone Tablets Exhibition", the reporter found a group of pottery shards, each of which was engraved with line-shaped symbols, and the curator Tang Wenyun told reporters that this is the pottery inscription that appeared in the Neolithic Age.

Is the Tao script, which appeared earlier than the oracle bone inscription, the earliest Chinese script? Tang Wenyun explained that Taowen is a text symbol carved on pottery by the ancients. There are two kinds of pottery inscriptions, one is the "primitive text" on the Neolithic pottery, such as the Banpo pottery symbol, the Ding Gong pottery inscription, the Gaoyou pottery inscription, etc., the specific meaning of these characters can not be confirmed at present, but it has a kind of "mark" and "table number" nature, which is considered to "provide clues for us to find the earliest Chinese writing". At the same time, in addition to the history of the development of writing in the exhibition, the audience can also see the development of the culture and art of inscriptions. In the exhibition hall, a group of utensils such as the micro tripod and the micro micro tun printed by Wu Dashi in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, and each picture has Wu Dashi's inscription in 1876.

The exhibition is divided into five parts: "Tao in the Tile Ring", "Heavenly Book Hidden Turtle", "Jiguang Fengyu", "Graphite Engraving" and "Bogu Fax", and selects nearly 100 pieces of gold and stone inscription rubbings in the museum's collection, from the five parts of Tao Wen rubbing, oracle bone rubbing, bronze inscription rubbing, stone carving rubbing, and bronze full-shape rubbing, showing the writing appearance from the Neolithic period to the Qin Dynasty, and the audience can further understand China's long history of writing development and the profound inscription culture and art.
