When it comes to Professor X in the movie X-Men, most fans think of a bald-headed telepath in a wheelchair.
What everyone doesn't know, however, is that it was this request to shoot in a wheelchair that made Patrick Stewart almost reject the role of Professor X.
In an interview with The Observer, X-Men film screenwriter David Haidt revealed, "Patrick Stewart didn't want to [play Charles Xavier], and it took us a long time to convince him." ”
"Terrence Stamp said to me, 'Do you know why Patrick doesn't want to act?' Because I have to use a wheelchair. He didn't want to be confined to a wheelchair. But I didn't mind, and in fact my bald look was handsome. ’”
In addition, Haidt also broke the news that many big stars almost participated in the "X-Men".
"Every day I get startled by the people who come to audition. For example, I saw Maria Kelly sitting in my office talking to director Brian Singer about playing Storm Girl or some other role, and it was shocking. ”
The screenwriter then named other big stars who were interested in or negotiated for the X-Men character, including Michael Jackson, Shaquille O'Neal, Charlize Theron, Russell Crowe, Vigo Mortson, and many more, some of whom declined to star in the film.
I didn't expect that so many big names wanted to star in "X-Men", if these people really let these people play it, then "X-Men" would definitely be a star-studded film.
