After 12 years of perseverance, Yang Ming and the children in the mountains have established a deep relationship, and the children affectionately call him "Yang Daddy".
For the sake of the children in the mountains, he resolutely chose to stick to it. In 2009, Yang Ming, a 25-year-old Xiaoshan boy, gave up his job of earning more than 10,000 yuan a month and came to Guizhou Province to teach in the qianxi mountains of Guizhou Province. The conditions there were very harsh, there was no road to the village, and the only way to travel was by walking or motorcycle belt; there was no teacher's dormitory, the living room was a grocery store, the windows were paper paste, and the winter was particularly cold; that year coincided with the drought in the southwest region, the draft was inconvenient, and it was necessary to walk a long way to carry water with flat shoulders to drink. At the end of a year of volunteer teaching, Yang Ming resolutely decided to stay. At Jingshan Primary School, which was once located in a deeply impoverished town, he single-handedly undertook the task of teaching multiple grades, insisting on house-to-house visits despite the high mountains and long roads, and his footprints covered more than 30 administrative villages.
For the sake of the children in the mountains, he once again chose to stay. In March 2018, two formerly deeply impoverished villages in Guanyindong Town, Xinhe and Xiongdong, opened kindergartens, and Yang Ming once again took the initiative to ask for help, traveling nearly 30 kilometers a day, one division and one garden to guard more than 10 preschool children in the village. Yang Ming was admitted to a publicly-funded graduate school, but for the sake of the children in the depths of the mountains, he chose to stay again.
Since then, Yang Ming has actively promoted the balanced development of education, and under his travel and guidance, he has promoted the inter-school pairing of Xiaoshan Gaoqiao Primary School and Shajing Primary School in Guanyindong Town, Qianxi City. He especially cared for left-behind children and poor students, and when he volunteered to teach in two formerly deeply impoverished villages in Guanyindong Town, he actively carried out special family visits and became the "surrogate father" of some children from special families.

In 2009, 25-year-old Yang Ming, a 25-year-old boy from Hangzhou, came to The Tile Factory Primary School in Jinbi Town, Guizhou Province, with a team of love teaching, to start his volunteer teaching career. Prior to this, he graduated from the Yucai College of Southwest University (now Chongqing College of Humanities and Science and Technology) majoring in Chinese as a foreign language, and worked in Dubai and Hangzhou, with a monthly income of more than 10,000 yuan.
As soon as he got out of the car, the scene of the brickyard primary school shocked Yang Ming's heart: the school building was a two-story cement house, the children played with sandbags and rolling iron rings between classes, and the school rang the bell to class. All this deeply touched Yang Ming. "It's like going back to the 1970s and 1980s, and the innocent and simple pictures of my childhood are back in front of me."

It's really hard to live. There is a serious shortage of water in the town, and Yang Ming has to go to the underground river cave at 4 a.m. to fetch water. The farmer's house is a 30-square-meter room, where Yang Ming and another volunteer teacher cook, work and sleep.
Classes take place during the day and home visits in the evening. In the days of volunteer teaching, Yang Ming often finished grading homework at night, and then used a flashlight to visit the students' homes, and Many sheep intestine trails in the village left Yang Ming's footprints.
After a year of volunteer teaching, the volunteer team members left one after another. With tears in their eyes, the children said their reluctance in their hearts: "I really want you to teach us all the time, junior high school, high school, college..." The child's tears hit the deepest softness of Yang Ming's heart, and he made a decision that many people could not understand - to participate in the special teacher program and continue to teach in the mountains.
"Where you need a teacher, go where you go!" When he had the opportunity to choose to teach in a middle school with relatively good conditions, Yang Ming resolutely chose a rural teaching point that was more remote than the Brickyard Primary School - Jingshan Primary School in Guanyindong Town, Qianxi County.
Jingshan Primary School is built on the top of the hill, about 40 kilometers from the county seat. Yang Ming buys daily necessities and can only walk 4 kilometers of mountain roads to the town once a week. On the narrow and muddy mountain road, villagers often see him carrying a huge hiking bag filled with vegetables, meat, eggs needed for life...
Here, the student base is poor, the teaching staff is weak, the teaching tasks are heavy, and the working and living environment is difficult. However, all these difficulties did not make Yang Ming shrink back, but stimulated his fighting spirit and allowed him to devote himself to the cause of rural education with greater enthusiasm.
In order to understand the situation of the students, he ignored the high mountains and long distances, and visited one family after another; in order not to let the children give up their studies and go out to work, he tirelessly did the work of students and parents over and over again; knowing that the students' family conditions were difficult, he bought various daily necessities and learning utensils for the children at his own expense; the parents of the students sometimes worked very late before returning home, and Yang Ming took on the responsibility of taking care of the children, giving them homework tutoring, and then sending them home one by one at night.
In the blink of an eye, Yang Ming worked at Jingshan Primary School for 7 years, until the teaching site was withdrawn in September 2017. In March 2018, Xinhe Kindergarten, located in the deeply impoverished village of Guanyindong Town, due to poor road conditions and far away from the town, no teacher was willing to teach, Yang Ming once again took the initiative to ask for help, applied to teach in the kindergarten, as a "child king", one person insisted on one kindergarten. From the end of 2018 to 2020, Yang Ming taught at Pingzi Primary School in Liancheng Street, Qianxi County, and in April 2020, he came to teach at the Jinxiu School in the relocated community of Qianxi County.

Seeing that the shoes he wore on his feet during his home visit were cracked, a 70-year-old grandmother in the village knitted a pair of very suitable sweater shoes for Yang Ming. What makes Yang Ming feel most pleased is that the children not only have the desire to go out of the mountains, but also have the determination to return to their hometown to contribute. Dong Denglan, a student at Guizhou Institute of Engineering and Applied Technology, was once a student of Yang Ming's brickyard primary school, when she studied hard and walked out of the mountains. Now her goal is to follow Yang Ming's example, take the special teacher exam, and return to the mountain village to educate more students.
