Sonic Seed introduces the Seofon, a new synth that fits perfectly into the experimental synth category, with an out-of-the-box alien-inspired design and a somewhat eerie noise synthesis engine.
It doesn't use ordinary synthesis to generate sounds. Its core core is a noise-generating circuit, consisting of seven groups of nodes in the center, which are directly output as noise, and these nodes are self-connected to form self-oscillation, or they can be interfered with by inputting signals to the nodes, resulting in a rhythm of a fixed frequency.
They can be thought of as self-wiring self-oscillating generators. You can also interfere with nodes by inputting signals into them, creating a rhythm.
The Sonic Seed Seofon has three sets of pulse oscillators that can adjust the pulse width of each set of oscillators. In addition, there are positive and negative phase outputs on the Seofon. There is also a filter that routes the signals extracted from the nodes, resulting in different noise events.
According to Sonic Seed, jamming and extracting noisy signals from seven sets of nodes is the most important element of a synthesizer. This is where the sound is generated and emitted.
Sonic Seed Seofon will be available in two versions. The standard version has metal contacts, two left and right mono, and a stereo output. The lit version has no metal contacts and only offers stereo output.
Even though the illuminated version is a bit cheaper, you can't intervene with the engine and you can't play virtually. By touching different metal contacts in combination, various influencing factors in the circuit can be connected to produce wild sounds. The developers describe it as a butterfly effect.
In the middle, both versions have a patch that can be explored using a jumper cord.
In addition, it has 11 knobs for adjusting parameters, such as built-in filters. The synthesizer is made of wood, and on the back there is a painting by the artist Yu Zhi.
