Recently, the relevant leaders of Yongchun County went to Shanghai to present the plaque of "Ze was Honored by Later Generations" to Huang Jiahuang, a sage of Yongchun Township, and expressed his gratitude and respect for his free donation to his hometown. Huang Jiahuang, 90 years old this year, was born in Huyang Town, Yongchun County, is a well-known survey engineer in mainland China, and was selected into the "Dictionary of Chinese Experts" in 2000. Not long ago, he donated a total of 1,729 pieces (sets) of ancient coins, commemorative coins, paleontological fossils, rocks, and mineral specimens to the Yongchun County Museum.
Huang Jiahuang, 90 years old this year, graduated from the Department of Geology of Nanjing University in 1954, majoring in hydrogeology and engineering geology, is a well-known hydrogeology expert and engineering survey expert in China, and has served as the deputy chief engineer of the Ship System Ship Survey and Design Research Institute, the president of the Xiamen Branch, and the chief engineer of the Gu Department. He participated in the completion of 156 large-scale backbone engineering projects aided by the Soviet Union, the water supply survey of Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant (Phase I) and the exploration of the water intake tunnel of the main plant of the nuclear island, and completed the review and technical consultation of the survey data of the national key project - Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and made great contributions to the system of science, technology and industry for national defense and the construction of the national defense industry throughout his life. In 2000, he was selected into the "Dictionary of Chinese Experts".
Outside of work, Mr. Huang is particularly interested in collecting, and he has been collecting paleontological fossils since university. Due to work reasons, in addition to Qinghai and Tibet, he traveled to 21 provinces and collected a total of 23 paleontological fossils, including 11 Silurian rectangular stones from the Paleozoic Era and 12 Mesozoic fossils. Everywhere he went, he especially liked to visit the antique market or other rural and rural areas where there might be antiques, and collected 16 volumes of ancient coins from all dynasties, with a total of 1,228 pieces. In addition, there are 141 coins from various countries, commemorative coins after the founding of New China, rocks, mineral specimens, conch, sea shells, corals and various collections.
Not long ago, Mr. Lao got in touch with Yongchun County in Shanghai through the Yongchun Chamber of Commerce in the Yangtze River Delta, and donated a total of 1,729 pieces (sets) of his collection of about 70 years to the Yongchun County Museum.
"I am from Yongchun, although I have been in Shanghai all these years, but before the age of 80, I still often go back to my hometown, the teachers and cadres in my hometown are very concerned about me, I have nothing else to return to my hometown, only these old objects, I hope to add a little value to the collection of my hometown." Mr. Huang said.
After receiving the collection, the Yongchun County Museum immediately classified the relevant collections, and asked experts to guide and identify the corresponding collections. "Experts have identified a total of 412 genuine coins in the ancient coins of the past dynasties, including 7 pieces of the Three Kingdoms, the Two Jin Dynasties, the Northern and Southern Dynasties, 3 pieces of the Sui and Tang Dynasties, 8 pieces of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, and 102 pieces of the Two Song Dynasties. Commemorative coins are very collectible. Paleontological fossils and rock and mineral specimens are very helpful for the museum to carry out scientific and educational activities in the future. Kang Guiqing, director of the Yongchun County Museum, said that soon after receiving the collection, the museum also selected 108 ancient coins and paleontological fossils for display.
