The Zhao family and Le stayed on the border to offer medical skills

Zhao Jiahe is the captain of the health team of a certain border defense regiment stationed in Heilongjiang. Over the past few years, he and his comrades-in-arms have made painstaking efforts to solve the problem of difficulty in seeking medical treatment for border guards.

Zhao Jiahe's family lives in Harbin City and has spent 12 years in the frontier. The year before last, when he was studying at the Harbin Garrison Hospital, he successfully performed more than 40 major surgeries, and the surgical leaders planned to keep him.

Zhao Jiahe also wanted to stay at that time, so that he could not only take care of his family, but also improve his business. However, when he thought that the current problem of difficulty in seeking medical treatment for officers and men of the border troops had not yet been resolved, he dismissed the idea of staying in the garrison hospital in a big city, and persuaded his wife to resolutely return to the border defense.

Zhao Jiahe took on the burden of the captain. This health team is a backward unit, and minor illnesses cannot be cured, but major illnesses cannot be cured. If a cadre or soldier is sick for a minor illness, he also has to take a car to the Mudanjiang Garrison Hospital, which is more than 300 miles away. There was a soldier who spent more than 200 yuan on the travel expenses for dental treatment alone. In order to change this situation, Zhao Jiahe led the whole team of medical personnel to fight on their own for half a year, so that the appearance of the health team changed, and they achieved general surgery, routine laboratory tests, fluoroscopy, physiotherapy, and dental prostheses.

Last year, the health team performed 53 surgeries and rescued 6 critically ill patients, thus solving the problem of cadres and fighters having difficulty in seeking medical treatment. The fighters affectionately called it: the health team is our "small border hospital".

At the end of last year, the military region conducted an assessment of 42 medical items for this medical team, and all of them achieved excellent results. The health team was awarded the collective third-class merit, and the Zhao family and individuals were also awarded the third-class merit, and were commended as the "pacesetter of the health captain who loves border defense".
