Now, the dream of a good life has come true! ”

Zhang Mingjian is making colored calico

Today, 76-year-old Zhang Mingjian still keeps carving knives and creating, using colorful calico to depict the Chinese dream in his heart. He has never stopped promoting and inheriting this ancient folk art with distinctive Yimeng characteristics.

The production of color calico is divided into six processes: pattern making, plate making, engraving, oiling, color matching, printing and dyeing. Zhang Jianming created the "gradient color" of color printing, and the lotus flower he printed changed the traditional monochrome appearance, and the petal color transitioned from magenta to red. Jiao Fangchi, the master of Chinese calligraphy, commented on Zhang Mingjian's color calico "ghostly axe, shape and rhyme; All things are auspicious, and the true legend is represented". This folk art has also been loved by art masters including Feng Jicai and Han Meilin. Yimengcai calico has won many honors such as the title of "Chinese Folk Art", and is deeply loved by Chinese and foreign people.
