In order to alleviate traffic congestion, reduce potential safety hazards, and provide a convenient travel environment for surrounding residents, on May 17, the canalization reconstruction project at the intersection of Guanhai Road and Xinglin Road, which was constructed by the Municipal Investment Engineering Construction Service Center of the Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau and the Municipal Maintenance Center of the Municipal Urban Management Bureau, officially started.
On the morning of May 17, the reporter came to the canalization reconstruction site of Xinglin Road, and in the construction enclosure, the original greening and sidewalk facilities were being dismantled, in preparation for the next step of adding a special ramp for turning right. It is understood that Xinglin Road is located on the west side of Guanhai Road, about 11 meters wide, a total of three lanes, on weekdays is the main passage for Yudai Building, Dawn Hotel, Luxi Mansion and other units and residential communities to enter and exit Guanhai Road, at the same time, the road is close to Xinxing North Street to the east, there are more residential communities and Yantai No. 2 Middle School Laishan Campus, resulting in a particularly large traffic flow during the morning and evening rush hours, and the passing vehicles in and out of Xinglin Road into the bending radius is small, right-turning vehicles and vertical direction of the straight vehicle to form cross interference, seriously affecting the traffic efficiency, It is very easy to cause traffic accidents.
At the site, Zhu Hongjiang, the project manager of the municipal center who was responsible for leading the construction, said: due to the large traffic flow of the intersection on weekdays and the existence of many facilities around it, it is limited by the ring main unit, charging cabinet, transformer room and buildings on the south side of the road, and the two sides of the road do not have the conditions for widening. In order to improve the traffic environment here, this canalization transformation will add a right-turn ramp at the intersection of Xinglin Road, which is expected to be 40 meters long and 5 meters wide, which is convenient for vehicles to turn right into Guanhai Road more quickly and safely. After that, the right turning radius of the south and north of the road will be increased, and the right angle of the original intersection will be changed to an arc, so as to reserve more turning space for vehicles and improve the efficiency of vehicle access. In order to facilitate vehicles to quickly enter Yantai No. 2 Middle School after entering Guanhai Road, the intersection markings will be adjusted to make the intersection become one left-turn lane and one left-turn right-turn lane, and the traffic signal scheme will be optimized simultaneously to alleviate traffic pressure.
At present, the project is in its infancy, will give priority to the construction of the new right-turn ramp, in order to ensure the construction efficiency and the normal passage of surrounding vehicles, the transformation will not occupy the original three roads, all in the closed enclosure for construction, in order to further reduce the impact on traffic, between seven and eight o'clock in the morning rush hour, and between four and a half to seven and a half in the evening peak, large vehicles and equipment will be driven away from Xinglin Road to ensure that the road does not occupy the road to affect traffic. The closed area is expected to be completed and opened before June 20, during which vehicles passing through the construction area are requested to slow down, follow traffic guidance, and pay attention to traffic safety.
