This marks a major breakthrough in the industrial application of geothermal energy in Liaohe River, and provides theoretical, technical and practical support for the cultivation and expansion of new energy business and new industries in Liaohe Oilfield.

Since the "14th Five-Year Plan", Liaohe Oilfield has actively integrated into the development of the national green and low-carbon circular economy, vigorously promoted the implementation of the green and low-carbon strategy, and regarded the development of new energy and alternative energy as a new driving force to promote green and low-carbon transformation and development.

Because this project is the first exploration and application project combining geothermal energy and oil and gas production in China, and due to factors such as reservoir geological conditions and incomplete establishment of geothermal channels, since it was put into operation, the geothermal wells have not been able to achieve a stable and optimized geothermal water production and irrigation balance, and cannot effectively meet the production and irrigation requirements of the scheme design.

In order to solve the problems of substandard green energy substitution and insufficient production of irrigation water, the environmental engineering company will take the breakthrough of geothermal technology, practical research, and project production as a major event, and in 2023, the relevant business offices, design units, and territorial units of the joint agency will form a special team to jointly carry out the comprehensive treatment of geothermal energy in Huansan.

In the process of comprehensive treatment, the project team repeatedly carried out research on the distribution law of thermal reservoirs, reconstructed the understanding of Huan Sanlian geological body, and transformed the Rehetai thermal reservoir into the collaborative development model of Daling River + Rehetai thermal reservoir, so as to ensure the connectivity of the well group and the multi-irrigation and multi-directional effect. Carry out technical research in heat storage transformation, lifting process support, surface system improvement, etc., and implement measures such as plugging removal, fracturing and pressurization reinjection of medium and low permeability sandstone heat storage test in long well sections.

At the beginning of this year, the comprehensive treatment effect began to appear, and the geothermal water recovery and irrigation capacity gradually increased from 40 cubic meters per hour at the beginning of production to 150 cubic meters per hour, and the production and operation volume reached 180 cubic meters per hour in early May.

During this period, the environmental engineering company also strengthened the operation and maintenance management of geothermal stations, comprehensively analyzed the operation of the past three years, optimized the operation frequency of water intake wells, adjusted the pressure of the operating pipe network, controlled the energy consumption of the system, carried out the backwashing of the filter tank and the replacement of the filter element in time, increased the number of filtration stages, extended the recovery cycle of the recharge well from 1 month to 6 months, and reduced the operation and maintenance costs.

"The results achieved by Huansan geothermal production management have strongly proved the advanced level of Liaohe geothermal technology, which not only handed over a qualified answer sheet to the group, but also helped Liaohe to build a 'second growth curve' for development." Lang Baoshan, manager of the environmental engineering company, said.

In the next step, the environmental engineering company will be guided by the "four refinements" requirements of the group company, on the basis of the qualitative breakthrough in the operation of the water volume of the Huansan geothermal station and the development of medium and deep medium and low permeability sandstone heat storage, guided by the demand for cold sources, dynamically adjust production, optimize operating parameters, improve heat exchange efficiency, reduce system energy consumption, and strive to replace natural gas consumption by 8.48 million cubic meters per year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 26,500 tons.
