Pingliang, located at the intersection of Shaanxi, Gansu and Ningbo provinces, has been known as the "dry wharf" in Longdong since ancient times. Due to its special geographical location, the anti-narcotics situation is grim and complicated.

In August 2013, Tian Jizong was promoted from an investigator to the head of the anti-drug brigade, and the burden on his shoulders was heavier.

The first arrest of a drug dealer is still fresh in my memory. In that year, several drug dealers traveled from Hubei to Gansu along the Fuyin Expressway, and according to analysis, they might trade somewhere on the way.

In order to escape the crackdown, the cunning drug dealers sometimes rushed on the highway, sometimes took the national highway to detour, and started a silent contest with the police. The drug dealer used a fake license plate to speed up the highway, and the speed once reached 180 yards per hour, and the police chased after him.

When the car reached the turn of the slope in Kongtong District, the anti-narcotics police attacked and forced the drug dealer to stop the vehicle before and after, and arrested it.

A few years ago, the drug situation in Pingliang City was the most complicated in Kongtong District, and the anti-narcotics brigade of the sub-bureau undertook the task of cracking anti-narcotics cases in the whole region and even in the whole city. Tian Jizong fought side by side with his comrades-in-arms, and three times he disguised himself and risked his life to break into the drug dealer gang alone.

When the narrow road meets, the brave wins. Once, a group of drug dealers in a southern province sneaked into Pingliang with new drugs to open up the market. After receiving the tip, in order to wipe out the drug dealers and drugs and prevent the new synthetic drugs from flowing into society, Tian Jizong decided to disguise himself as a drug trafficker to approach.

According to statistics, over the past 16 years of cracking down on drug-related crimes, he has cracked more than 90 major cases and more than 300 cases of drug trafficking in small packages, seized more than 60 kilograms of various drugs, arrested nearly 1,000 drug addicts and traffickers, and maintained zero casualties among the cadres and policemen participating in the brigade.

After taking office as deputy director of the sub-bureau, Tian Jizong convened the departments in charge many times, first comprehensively sorted out the backlog of long-term unsolved homicide cases, and dispatched capable forces to form a special squad for tackling tough problems, and then carried out centralized research and judgment on all the backlog of homicide cases and online fugitives in the region, forming a strong joint force for tackling and solving cases on the basis of overall planning and deployment and integrated scheduling.

On June 13, 1996, when the suspect Yang was stealing in a yard in Sanliyuan, Pingliang, he happened to be met by the hostess who was returning home, so he smashed the person to death with a brick and then absconded. For more than 20 years, the investigating police have persevered, and have found Yang's traces in Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia and other places, but due to the technical and conditional restrictions at the time, the investigation has reached a deadlock several times, and the case has been listed as a murder case supervised by the provincial department.

Reviewing the files that had long been yellowed and examining the physical evidence left at the scene, the police of the special case group repeatedly searched for clues between the lines of the files and in the examination of physical evidence. At about 14 o'clock on the same day, a man appeared on the way to the mahjong parlor, the tattoo on his wrist matched the characteristics of the fugitive, and the police sent the face photo back to the command center of the sub-bureau after the portrait comparison and confirmation, and successfully captured Yang who had been absconding for 26 years.

Today, with the rapid development of scientific and technological information, information technology has provided strong support for solving cases and continuously improved the efficiency of investigating and handling major cases. Located in a small city in the northwest, Tian Jizong has always looked at the whole country, and Tian Jizong uses information technology thinking to help solve homicide cases.

In April 2023, under the careful guidance of Tian Jizong, the sub-bureau's synthetic combat command center successfully compared the 15-year-old murder fugitive Ma Mou appeared somewhere in our province, and due to the sensitive and complex hiding place, he led a team to arrest him. The police ran thousands of miles and successfully arrested Ma in only 22 hours, and cracked 1 homicide case.

Under his participation and leadership, he has cracked more than 1,200 criminal cases of various kinds, arrested more than 1,000 criminal suspects and more than 220 fugitives from various types of Internet, and cracked more than 30 major cases of provincial governors and 4 cases of ministerial governors, effectively cracking down on the arrogance of criminals.

Temptation tests human nature, but also tests party spirit - "If a person goes the wrong way, it will affect the image of the team"

Being on the front line of handling cases at the grassroots level, walking in the forefront of fighting crime, all kinds of temptations often test human nature, but also test party spirit, Tian Jizong handed over an excellent answer sheet with unscrupulous actions, showing firm belief and selfless noble feelings.

In April 2018, Tian Jizong, then the captain of the anti-drug brigade, led the anti-drug police to crack the drug trafficking case of a mother and son from Ningxia, and seized more than 10 grams of heroin on the spot, and she will face more than ten years in prison.

"The policeman is also a human being, I don't believe that he doesn't love money!" The drug dealer's husband, Ma, learned that his wife and children had been arrested, and he inquired about the trustee to find Tian Jizong, the person in charge of the case, and took out a huge amount of cash to ask for leniency.

Faced with the temptation of money, Tian Jizong sternly refused, and the behavior of the drug dealer's husband aroused Tian Jizong's vigilance, and he concluded based on empirical analysis: This may be a drug trafficking gang of the whole family, so he shifted his attention to Ma, and he quickly organized the police to deploy control, waiting for this big fish to take the bait.

As expected, two months later, under the guise of helping his wife and children hire a lawyer, Ma came to Pingliang many times to open up the drug trafficking channel. Once, Ma was caught by the police when he was selling drugs to Guo in a certain place in the jurisdiction, and more than 100 grams of heroin were seized, destroying the drug trafficking family in one fell swoop.

"Although we do not live in a vacuum, we must use our determination to create a vacuum environment of honesty and self-discipline." Tian Jizong often admonished his comrades-in-arms: "No matter how much we have done things that are beneficial to the people, if one person violates discipline, it will ruin the image of the entire public security force!" ”

Over the years, Tian Jizong has never handled a single case of favors, relationships, or money, let alone let a criminal go unpunished; he has used his integrity to handle one case after another into an iron case that can stand the test of time and the test of history, and he has been in charge of the anti-narcotics brigade for nearly 10 years, and the entire police have always violated discipline.

Among the arrested suspects are father and son, brothers, husbands and wives, and some even have a family of 5.

Intimidation is commonplace, and Tian Jizong has never been afraid. He said: "At the beginning, since I chose to be a policeman, I have long been ready to shed blood and sacrifice, if I am timid and retreat, I don't deserve to wear this police uniform, as long as I still have a breath, I will fight the criminals to the end!" ”

Anti-narcotics, solving cases, chasing fugitives, this is the normal life of Tian Jizong in the police for nearly 20 years, due to the busy work sacrificed a lot of holidays, for this, relatives somewhat complained, but after a long time, the family will understand and get used to it.

But in the face of the lack of fatherly love in the child's growth, the corners of the eyes of this tough man were full of tears between his words, Tian Jizong said: "Companionship is the best gift for a child's growth, but as a people's policeman who cares about his family and country, this is the best life example for his child!" ”
