The Oxford AQA International EPQ requires 120 hours of study, including 30 hours of skills teaching and 90 hours of independent study. Students can complete the EPQ over the course of one to two academic years.

- Students research and develop a project proposal for approval by their supervisor and approval by the Center Coordinator.
- Students develop their projects independently under the guidance of a range of taught skills courses and with the support of their mentors, and maintain a production log of their progress.
