On May 29, everyone says it's "World Gut Health Day", but did you know? This is not actually accurate, the official name is not this.

Recently, because I was preparing for the 529 event, I wanted to systematically learn about the origin of "World Gut Health Day", and found that on the official website of the World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO), there is no "World Gut Health Day", that is, "World Gut Heath Day".
Has everyone been wrong for the past 20 years? There's definitely something wrong, but it's not all wrong.
It turns out that the correct name should be "World Digestive Health Day". The scope of "digestion" is much larger than that of "intestines", including the oral cavity, esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, etc., which is a comprehensive and systematic concept of the human body.
It was established in 2003 at the suggestion of Professor Henri Cohen, a Uruguayan gastroenterology expert who was the then Secretary General of WGO and later served as President in 2011~2013, to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of WGO (founded on May 29, 1958). In 2005, WGO officially organized the first World Digestive Health Day. May 29 this year marks the 20th World Digestive Health Day.
Therefore, there is no problem with the date of May 29, but according to the official English name of WGO, it should be "World Digestive Health Day".
So how did this important anniversary spread to China and is commonly known as "World Gut Health Day"?
I checked some information, and finally on the "Nature China" website, I saw that we were familiar with the promotion content of a brand cooperation with nature, mentioning that in 2010, at the international symposium on "Lactic Acid Bacteria and Health" sponsored by the Chinese Society of Food Science and Technology, the concept of "World Gut Health Day" was officially introduced to China.
According to the information I have before, this point in time should be correct, and this brand is indeed the main force to spread and promote "World Gut Health Day". I guess it was probably because they wanted to strengthen their gut health, so they tended to translate, introduce, and promote "gut health day".
I'm familiar with what happened next. In the past 15 years or so, the research and industrialization of intestinal flora has continued to heat up in the world and China, and the role of "intestinal health" in the entire "digestive health" has been highlighted, so that except in some professional institutions, the "original concept" of "World Digestive Health Day" has been covered by "World Intestinal Health Day"; On the contrary, "World Gut Health Day" has become more and more popular, and everyone is accustomed to it.
The theme of gut and gut microbiota, including at WGO's official event of 529 per year, is also very intensive.

For example, the concept of "Gut Health Day" will be mainly promoted in the future, but the word "529" will be added in front of it, which will be called "529 Gut Health Day" and "Gut Health Day".
