Xu Weibing, Secretary of the General Party Branch and Principal of Chengnan Experimental Primary School in Hai'an City, Senior Teacher, Special Teacher of Jiangsu Province, the First Batch of Jiangsu People's Educator Training Objects, and the Pilot Principal of Nantong City, has twice won the second prize of National Basic Education Teaching Achievement.
In October 2008, Xu Weibing was invited to Nanjing to attend the "Modern and Classic" class. An elderly man with slightly gray hair but strong spirits caught Xu Weibing's attention: Zheng Yuxin, a professor in the Department of Philosophy at Nanjing University and a heavyweight expert in mathematics education.
With admiration, Xu Weibing invited Mr. Zheng to take a group photo, and he readily agreed.

After the class, Xu Weibing went to the bookstore outside the venue and bought a copy of Mr. Zheng Yuxin's "Philosophy of Mathematics Education". The book systematically discusses a series of problems in mathematics and mathematics education from a philosophical perspective, with a total of 474 pages, and Xu Weibing read it almost in one sitting. Later, Xu Weibing noticed that Mr. Zheng often had incisive and unique opinions on the hot and difficult issues of curriculum reform, and he was deeply touched and could resonate strongly every time he read it. He has become the academic mentor in Xu Weibing's heart!
In 2017, Mr. Zheng's "New Philosophy of Mathematics Education" was published, and Xu Weibing spent a month reading and tasting it. Xu Weibing found that many of the ideas in Mr. Zheng's original work have also developed, especially a passage from Xu Weibing's article is quoted on page 201.
In 2018, the research on "structured teaching" was launched in an all-round way, and many problems need to be helped by experts. Xu Weibing thought of Professor Zheng Yuxin, asked a friend in Nanjing, found Mr. Zheng's mobile phone number, and sent him a text message asking for help on the evening of March 12, 2018. After a while, Mr. Zheng replied, "Hello, Mr. Xu! Thank you for your letter and trust. Can you send me the article first, and if you have something to say after reading it, I will contact you? The next day, Xu Weibing sent the article over, and he replied: "Thank you!" I will focus on reading and studying, but my eyes are degraded a lot now, especially when I am tired of reading things on the computer, so I may have to delay a little time. I'm sorry! Unexpectedly, 5 days later, Teacher Zheng Yuxin sent a text message to Xu Weibing: "Teacher Xu, the article has been completed. It's not so much a review as an essay. I don't know if it meets the requirements, but if you don't think it's appropriate, please don't force it, I won't care. ”
Xu Weibing couldn't wait to open the document, and the author very much appreciated the work of Mr. Xu Weibing and his team, "Structured Learning: Classroom Practice of Returning to the 'Original'...... After reading the 2,000-word review, I still can't get enough of it, and a bold idea flashed through my mind: go to Nanjing to visit Mr. Zheng!
On March 22, 2018, Xu Weibing came to Mr. Zheng Yuxin's house. As soon as he entered the door, Xu Weibing sent a group photo from 10 years ago, and Mr. Zheng showed a look of surprise: "You actually saved an old photo so well"! Later, I recited many of the original texts in his writings on the spot, and Mr. Zheng praised them greatly: "There are many people who read my books, and it is the first time I have met them by memorizing them word for word." Today, you stay and have dinner with me and my wife! After dinner, they took a group photo again.

Since then, although they rarely meet, but often "meet", Mr. Zheng has mentioned Xu Weibing many times in articles such as "Reading with Feelings" and "Jiangsu Examples of Excellent Primary School Mathematics Teachers", and his articles will also give Xu Weibing a sneak peek before they are published. In 2021, Xu Weibing's "Teaching of Mathematics in Primary Schools" was published, and Mr. Zheng happily wrote a preface for Xu Weibing.
