Soda system
The steam-water system of a thermal power plant is composed of a boiler, a steam turbine, a condenser, a high and low pressure heater, a condensate pump and a feed water pump, etc., and it includes a steam-water cycle, chemical water treatment and cooling system. The water is heated into steam in the boiler, which is further heated by the heater and then becomes superheated steam, which then enters the steam turbine through the main steam pipe. As the steam expands, the high-velocity steam pushes the blades of the turbine to rotate, which drives the generator. In order to further improve its thermal efficiency, part of the steam that has done work is generally extracted from some intermediate stages of the steam turbine to heat the feed water.

Power generation systems
The power generation system is composed of auxiliary exciter, exciter disk, main exciter (standby exciter), generator, transformer, high-voltage circuit breaker, booster station, power distribution device, etc. Power generation is sent by the sub-exciter (permanent magnet machine) high-frequency current, the current sent by the sub-exciter is rectified by the excitation disk, and then sent to the main exciter, and the main exciter is sent to the generator rotor through the voltage regulator and the demagnetization switch through the carbon brush. The generator rotor induces current by rotating its stator coil, and the strong current is divided into two channels through the generator outlet, one is sent to the power transformer of the plant, and the other is sent to the SF6 high-voltage circuit breaker, which is sent to the power grid by the SF6 high-voltage circuit breaker.
LearnEngineering's animation explains how a thermal power plant operates, and the video starts with the most basic problem of the Rankine cycle. You'll see generators, turbines, condensers, feed pumps, boilers, and more in action throughout the working cycle!
