I arrived in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, and set foot on this beautiful land exhausted. I booked an apartment online in advance with the expectation that I could enjoy the beauty of this exotic country to the fullest, however, I was surprised by the reality.

Located in a bustling area of downtown Manila, the apartment is said to be an excellent choice for accommodation. I walked into the apartment lobby with high anticipation, and the high booking price made me look forward to my future stay. However, as soon as I walked through the door, I felt a different atmosphere.

The lobby of the apartment is luxuriously decorated and elegant, as if it were a modern art exhibition hall. The reception staff are also dressed in a unique style, neat and tidy, exuding professionalism and enthusiasm. However, when I was brought to my room, something surprising happened.

The rooms are well laid out and luxuriously decorated, but everything seems too luxurious to make one wonder if the price is reasonable. I looked around and saw that every detail here betrayed luxury and waste, even an ordinary water bottle was made of delicate crystal. I thought that if I were a local tycoon, I might be satisfied with this luxury, but as an ordinary traveler, I would prefer an affordable and comfortable accommodation.

However, luxury is not my only concern. In the Philippines, I quickly discovered a headache – transportation. Manila's traffic is superb, and the congestion is comparable to that of other major cities in Asia. Every time I go out to take a taxi, it is a long and tortuous journey, and the fare is even more jaw-dropping.

I remember one time when a few friends and I went to Sunset Beach on the edge of Manila Bay to enjoy the famous Manila Bay sunset. I thought it was just a short trip, but it turned out to be an unforgettable "difficult trip".

We were from the apartment and thought we could be there in 30 minutes. However, in the midst of the heavy traffic, the vehicle remained motionless, as if time had frozen here. The driver kept muttering about the reason for the road congestion, and we sat helplessly in the car and watched the sun go down.

Two hours later, we finally arrived at our destination, but we had already missed that moment of the beautiful sunset. On the way back, I couldn't help but wonder about the city's traffic conditions, no wonder some people online say that Manila's traffic is a nightmare.

Back at the apartment, my friends and I started researching accommodation and transportation in the Philippines. Through the communication with the locals, I gradually learned that the tourism industry in the Philippines is developing rapidly, but there are also some problems. Apartments, while expensive, attract a large number of affluent tourists, which in turn leads to higher prices for services in the surrounding area.

As for the traffic problem, locals told us that it is closely related to factors such as unreasonable planning and too many vehicles in the Manila City Government. While the government is taking some steps to improve the traffic situation, it will take time and more efforts to solve the problem.

During our few days in the Philippines, my friends and I experienced many unforgettable things, which were difficult but also added to a different experience. We visited some of Manila's famous attractions, such as the Old City Museum and the unique National Museum of the Philippines, and got a feel for the country's rich history and culture.

At the same time, we also visited some natural attractions around Manila, such as Talvo Crater Lake, Cartaban Falls, etc., to enjoy the magnificent natural scenery of the Philippines. In this beautiful land, I felt the harmony between man and nature, and experienced the diversity of life.

Back at the apartment, I sat quietly in front of the window, looking out the window at the brightly lit city, and a wave of emotion welled up in my heart. During this journey, I not only came to experience the customs of the Philippines, but also found my place in this strange country and felt the diversity of life.

Perhaps, the prices of apartments are inflated and the traffic congestion is complaining, but these do not hide the unique charm of the Philippines. Here, I learned tolerance and understanding, and learned to appreciate the little things in life. May this journey be the best memory of my life and cherish it in my heart forever.
