I just came back from a trip to the Philippines, and I don't know if I should say it or not, what does the real Philippines look like? I traveled to the Philippines not long ago, and finally learned about this mysterious country up close.
Since it was my first time in the Philippines, I was curious about everything there. The Philippines is similar to Japan, and it is also an island country, with more than 7,000 large and small islands, of which 1,900 are inhabited.
The Philippines has a tropical rainforest climate with only two seasons in the year, the dry season and the rainy season, and the long hours of sunshine, so it is rich in tropical fruits, making it a great choice for those who love sun, sand and exotic scenery. Through in-depth understanding, I found that the people here are still very hospitable, and many other aspects are different from what we usually know on the Internet, mainly reflected in the following aspects.
First, the Philippines has a land area of only 299,000 square kilometers, which is about the same size as Guangxi on the mainland.
However, the population has reached 100.2 million, and the population of Guangxi is only about 50 million, so it is not difficult to see that the Philippines is a country with few land and many people.
Then many people have questions, why such a small country, the population will reach more than 100 million, it turns out that the country of the Philippines opposes contraception and abortion, in their concept, children are a gift from God, and if they have children, they will be born, so in them, it is not surprising that a family has five or six children. That's the opposite of what we do.
Second, prices in the Philippines are very high.
originally thought that they had so many children, the cost of living should not be high, but in fact it was not. Go to their vegetable market and you will find that almost all vegetables are more expensive than our China, which may have a certain relationship with the local tropical climate, many of them rely on imports, and the price is naturally not cheap, look at the cucumbers and tomatoes over there are all sold, cucumbers are 5 yuan a piece, tomatoes are 3 yuan a piece. Secondly, the price of meat is not cheap, pork is 25 pounds, beef is 60 pounds. According to this price level, including food and housing, it should be about the same as our first-tier cities in China.
Third, polygamy in the Philippines is protected by law.
Although polygamy is allowed on their side, there are also prerequisites, first of all, all wives must be voluntary, secondly, as a husband, they must have that economic condition, and then one is that wives must be able to ensure peaceful coexistence with each other, and the last strange rule is that divorce cannot be allowed, so for ordinary people, monogamy is still the vast majority.
Fourth, the gap between the rich and the poor is relatively large.
Heaven and hell are playing out here every day. As mentioned earlier, the rich can marry a few wives, eat and drink spicy, live an upper-class life, and think about how to meet high consumption all day long, although the Philippines is not big, but there are more than 2,000 large shopping malls, it is conceivable that this is dedicated to those rich people.
And the poor have to work hard to marry a wife, many people are still worried about three meals a day, by picking up garbage for a living, they are struggling under the poverty line, and raising a few more children is even worse, in the streets of Manila, the capital of the Philippines, the rich and the poor here form a stark contrast, the rich man's villa area and the poor man's slum are separated by a wall, but the two sides are completely different worlds.
In addition to the above points, beauty pageants are particularly popular in the Philippines. Here, there are more mixed-race children, and for this reason, it also makes Filipino facial features very beautiful.
