Raise the standard of living allowance for students with financial difficulties
Starting from the spring semester of 2024, the national basic standard of living allowance for boarding students with financial difficulties will be raised, and the average annual student will be increased from 1,000 yuan to 1,250 yuan for primary schools and from 1,250 yuan to 1,500 yuan for junior high schools; The standard of living allowance for non-boarders with financial difficulties continues to be approved at 50% of the national basic standard for living allowance for boarders. It is estimated that more than 20 million students across the country will receive living allowances.
Increase subsidies for the maintenance and renovation of rural school buildings
From 2024 onwards, the calculation standard for subsidy per unit area of rural school buildings will be increased from 800 yuan/square meter to 1,100 yuan/square meter in the eastern and central regions, and from 900 yuan/square meter to 1,200 yuan/square meter in the western region.
Support to speed up the completion of shortcomings
Through the substitution of awards and subsidies, we will support local governments in implementing the policy of living subsidies for rural teachers, and accelerate the improvement of the conditions for running rural boarding schools.
