Accelerate the construction of transportation infrastructure. On May 11, the Desheng Tunnel, a major and difficult control project of the Sichuan-Qingdao Railway, was successfully completed. The tunnel is located in Songpan County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province, with an altitude of about 2,800 meters and a total length of 22,923 meters, and the construction lasted nearly 10 years. The Sichuan-Qingdao Railway, which connects Chengdu in Sichuan Province and Xining in Qinghai Province, is an important part of the mainland's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed rail network, with a total length of about 836 kilometers. After the breakthrough of the Desheng Tunnel, the Chengdu-Huangshengguan section of the Sichuan-Qingdao Railway is expected to be opened within the year, which will completely end the history of no railway in northwest Sichuan.
The Hou'an Tunnel, the control project of the whole line of the Shenyang-Changbaishan high-speed railway, was recently broken through. As the main passenger transport channel in the eastern part of Northeast China, the Shenyang-Baihai high-speed railway will effectively promote the deep integration of the three northeastern provinces and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region after its completion and opening to traffic. In Inner Mongolia, the main structure of the air traffic control tower of Hohhot Shengle International Airport has been successfully capped, and the airport is expected to be operational by the end of 2025, which can ensure an annual passenger throughput of 28 million passengers. In Jiangsu, the Changtai Yangtze River Bridge, which connects Changzhou and Taizhou, has stepped up construction, and as the world's longest span cable-stayed bridge, the bridge is expected to be completed next month.
A number of energy and water conservancy projects are also speeding up. On May 11, the construction of the main civil engineering of the main plant of Qinghai Maerfang Hydropower Station, a key energy project of "West-to-East Power Transmission", was completed, and it is expected that all units will be put into operation by the end of this year, which can save about 2.2 million tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 8.16 million tons per year. In Anhui Wuwei, the renovation project of the Phoenix Neck Pumping Station of the Yangtze River and Huai River has ushered in important progress - the new pump room has been successfully capped, and it will soon be transferred to the installation stage of pump motor equipment, which can play a positive role in flood control, drainage and irrigation in the Chaohu Lake Basin after it is put into operation next year.
