On May 11, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) released its automobile production and sales data for April. According to the data, in April, the mainland truck market (including incomplete vehicles and tractors) sold a total of 312,600 units, a decrease of 22.84% from March and a slight increase of 0.98% year-on-year.
Heavy trucks: Sinotruk won the sales championship and Universiade led the rise
In April, the heavy truck market (including incomplete vehicles and tractors) sold 82,300 units, down 28.90% from March and 0.97% year-on-year. In April, a total of four companies sold more than 10,000 vehicles. Among them, China National Heavy Duty Truck won the championship with a sales volume of 23,360 vehicles, and the three companies that broke 10,000 were FAW Jiefang, Shaanxi Automobile, and Dongfeng, Shaanxi Automobile ranked up one place from the previous month, and Dongfeng fell one place from the previous month. The fifth to tenth places are still Futian, Universiade, XCMG, Jianghuai, Beiben and Hongyan. In April, among the top 10 companies in the sales list of heavy trucks, Sinotruk, Jiefang, Shaanxi Automobile, Dayun, XCMG, and Beiben outperformed the market.
Judging from the year-on-year growth, in April, six of the top ten heavy truck sales companies achieved growth, namely Sinotruk, Jiefang, Shaanxi Automobile, Universiade, XCMG, Beiben, of which three companies increased by more than 10%, namely Universiade, XCMG, Sinotruk, Universiade had the highest increase, an increase of 24.57% in April.
From the perspective of cumulative sales, from January to April, the cumulative sales of the heavy truck market were 355,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 9.35%. In terms of rankings, the ranking of the top 10 companies has not changed from the ranking from January to March. Judging from the year-on-year cumulative growth, eight of the top ten enterprises have achieved growth, namely Sinotruk, Jiefang, Dongfeng, Shaanxi Automobile, Universiade, XCMG, Beiben, Hongyan, Foton and Jianghuai sales decreased year-on-year.
From the perspective of market share, from January to April this year, the market share of the top ten heavy truck sales enterprises compared with the market share of the same period last year, four companies have achieved growth, namely Sinotruk, Jiefang, Dongfeng and XCMG.
Medium card: Jiefang Super Foton ranks first BYD skyrocketed
In April, the medium-sized truck market sold 12,900 units, down 7.62% month-on-month and 4.30% year-on-year. In April, Jiefang won the championship with a sales volume of 3,944 units, which is the second time that Jiefang has won the sales championship in the medium-sized truck market this year. Foton sold 2,610 vehicles, ranking second, down one place from the previous month. JAC, Universiade and Sinotruk ranked the same as last month, with JAC selling 2,311 vehicles, Universiade selling 1,270 vehicles and Sinotruk selling 852 vehicles. BYD ranked sixth, selling 524 units in April, up two places from March. Qingling sold 523 vehicles, ranking seventh, down one place from the previous month. Dongfeng sold 494 vehicles, ranking eighth, down one place from the previous month. Nanjun and UFO are still ranked ninth and tenth. In April, Jiefang, JAC, Sinotruk, BYD, and Qingling outperformed the market.
Judging from the year-on-year growth, in April, there were six companies in the truck market to achieve growth, namely Jiefang, Foton, JAC, Sinotruk BYD, Qingling, among them, BYD had the highest increase, a year-on-year surge of 2811.11%, in addition, Jiefang and Qingling also increased by more than 200%.
From the perspective of cumulative sales, from January to April, the sales of medium truck market were 45,100, a year-on-year increase of 16.18%. In terms of cumulative rankings, the ranking in the first four months is the same as in the previous three months. Judging from the year-on-year cumulative growth, five of the top ten companies have achieved growth, namely Jiefang, JAC, Sinotruk, BYD and Nanjun.
From the perspective of market share, from January to April this year, the market share of the top ten enterprises in the truck market compared with the market share of the same period last year, four companies have achieved growth, namely Jiefang, Sinotruk, BYD and Nanjun.
Light truck: Foton won the championship with 32,600 yuan, and the Great Wall entered the top three
In April, the light truck market sold 158,400 units, a decrease of 24.49% from March and a year-on-year increase of 3.88%. In April, there were six companies in the light truck market that sold more than 10,000 vehicles, of which Foton won the championship with a sales volume of 32,600 units, and the five companies with sales of more than 10,000 units were Great Wall, Changan, Dongfeng, Jianghuai and Jiangling. Great Wall came in second place, finishing in the top three for the first time this year. Changan sold 15,500 vehicles, still ranking third. Dongfeng sold 15,218 vehicles, ranking fourth, down two places from March. The JAC and JMC rankings were unchanged from March. Sinotruk and Xinyuan did not change their rankings compared with the previous month, ranking seventh and eighth respectively, with sales of 8,419 and 7,453 respectively. Jiefang sold 6,905 vehicles, ranking ninth, up one place from the previous month. Maxus sold 5,250 vehicles, ranking tenth, down one place from the previous month. In April, Jiangling, Sinotruk, Jiefang, and Xinyuan outperformed the market.
Judging from the year-on-year increase, in April, only four of the top ten companies in the light truck market achieved growth, namely Jiangling, Sinotruk, Xinyuan and Jiefang, of which Jiefang had the highest growth, with a year-on-year increase of 125.29%.
From the perspective of cumulative sales, from January to April, the cumulative sales of the light truck market were 649,600, a year-on-year increase of 3.42%. In terms of cumulative rankings, the ranking in the first four months is the same as that in the previous three months. Judging from the year-on-year cumulative growth, among the top ten enterprises, only two companies, Great Wall and Datong, decreased year-on-year, and the rest of the enterprises achieved varying degrees of growth.
From the perspective of market share, from January to April this year, the market share of the top ten enterprises in sales volume compared with the market share of the same period last year, seven companies have achieved growth, namely Chang'an, Dongfeng, JAC, Jiangling, Xinyuan, Sinotruk and Jiefang.
Micro card: Wuling's share is nearly sixty percent, led by Tang Jun and Ouling
In April, the micro truck market sold 59,000 units, down 10.10% from March and 4.20% year-on-year. In April, only one company in the micro truck market sold more than 10,000 vehicles. In the same month, the ranking of the micro truck market remained unchanged, and the top eight companies were Wuling, Kaima, Changan, Chery, Tangjun Ouling, Dongfeng, Foton and JAC. In April, Kaima, Chang'an, Tangjun and Ouling outperformed the market.
Judging from the year-on-year increase, in April, there were three companies in the micro card market to achieve growth, namely Kaima, Chang'an and Tangjun Ouling. Among them, Tang Jun Ouling had the highest increase, soaring 514.32% year-on-year.
From the perspective of year-on-year cumulative sales, from January to April, the cumulative sales of the micro truck market were 182,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 16.48%. Judging from the year-on-year cumulative growth, from January to April, there were four companies in the micro card market that achieved growth, namely Wuling, Changan, Kaima and Tangjun Ouling.
From the perspective of market share, from January to April this year, the market share of the top eight companies in the micro card market compared with the market share of the same period last year, four companies have achieved growth, namely Chang'an, Kaima, Tangjun Ouling, and JAC.
