On May 10th and 11th, two special intangible cultural heritage experience classes were held at Hujiang College of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. The event invites international students to experience the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture and intangible cultural heritage through offline classes.

The municipal intangible cultural heritage inheritor of Huang Daopo's handmade cotton spinning skills inheritance base led more than 20 international students to experience traditional tie-dyeing skills, and also told the students about the development history of oil paper umbrellas and painting skills. Afterwards, the students were instructed to create their own color drawings on oil-paper umbrellas.

Pham Thi Phong Cao, a first-year student from the School of Management, from Vietnam, said: "During the event, I learned about the story of Huang Daopo, immersed myself in the wonderful world of tie-dyeing technology, and felt the pursuit and creativity of beauty in ancient and modern China. It has given me a deeper understanding and love for the unique charm of Chinese culture. Lida, a fourth-year university student from Kyrgyzstan, said that the hands-on practice not only allowed me to experience the charm of intangible cultural heritage, but also strengthened my interest and respect for traditional Chinese culture. The explanation of the inheritor also made me realize the importance of traditional cultural inheritance.

This intangible cultural heritage course experience activity was co-organized by Shanghai Urban Travel Card Development Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Jiushi Group's transportation card company, and Genshin Impact, a subsidiary of miHoYo.

Previously, the transportation card company and Genshin Impact jointly launched a public welfare transportation card with the theme of "Genshin Impact" long-term intangible cultural heritage project "Streamer Journey", and part of the proceeds were used to support the implementation of the "Social Aesthetic Education" classroom project sponsored by the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism. This event is also the latest landing of the project. So far, the project has invited a number of inheritors of municipal intangible cultural heritage skills to carry out 18 experience activities such as blue and white porcelain, Suzhou embroidery, and gold filigree inlay craftsmanship.
