On the afternoon of May 9, Fu Wentao, the first batch of submariners of China's manned deep diving Jiaolong and the winner of the honorary title of "Manned Deep Diving Hero" awarded by the Party Central Committee and the State Council, walked into Songshan Lake Experimental Middle School and brought a special lecture on "popular science and dedication" to teachers and students.
In the lecture, Fu Wentao gave a vivid explanation to the students to have an in-depth understanding of the deep-sea topography and landforms, strange creatures, and how to carry out scientific research in the deep sea. He also told various magical and interesting stories of his deep-sea diving with real experience, introduced the development of China's manned deep diving, and encouraged students to establish lofty ambitions and win glory for the country.

It is understood that Fu Wentao, as one of the first batch of submariners of China's manned deep diving Jiaolong, created a world record of 7,062 meters in 2012. He drove the Jiaolong 101 times in total, created and broke records many times, and made outstanding contributions to the development of China's manned deep diving. He has won the honorary titles of "National May Day Labor Medal", "China Youth May Fourth Medal" and "National Youth Post Expert".
