"Romance of the Three Kingdoms", a classical novel carrying Chinese history and culture, was compiled by the Ming Dynasty writer Luo Guanzhong based on historical records and folklore, and is one of the four great masterpieces of ancient China. The book is based on the history from the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty to the early years of the Western Jin Dynasty, and presents a magnificent historical picture through the interweaving of intricate military struggles, political games and the fate of characters.

Overview of the main plot

"Romance of the Three Kingdoms" preludes the Yellow Turban Uprising, opening the curtain of the era of division and heroes.

As the beginning of the wonderful chapter, "Taoyuan Righteousness" tells the story of Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei, three heroes who became brothers with different surnames in Taoyuan, Zhuo County, swore to live and die together, and jointly pursued the ideal of restoring the Han Dynasty.

"Three Heroes Battle Lu Bu", which happened in front of the Tiger Prison Pass, Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei joined forces to fight against the brave and invincible Lu Bu, this battle showed the martial arts and tacit understanding of the three heroes, and also pushed personal bravery to the height of legend.

The "Battle of Red Cliffs" was a turning point in the history of the Three Kingdoms, the combined forces of Sun Quan and Liu Bei, under the wisdom and planning of Zhuge Liang and Zhou Yu, attacked Cao Cao's army with fire, showing the decisive role of wisdom and strategy in the war, which not only prevented Cao Cao's ambition to unify the world, but also laid the foundation for the situation of the Three Kingdoms.

"Six out of Qi Mountain", describes the Shu Han Prime Minister Zhuge Liang in order to realize the legacy of the ancestor Liu Bei, many northern expeditions to Cao Wei's arduous process, despite facing many difficulties, Zhuge Liang's persistence and resourcefulness, as well as loyalty to the country, deeply moved future generations.

"Seven captures of Meng Huo", also a good story in the process of Zhuge Liang's southern expedition, through seven captures and release of the Southern Barbarian leader Meng Huo, and finally made him happy and convinced, not only showing military conquest, but more importantly, through the combination of grace and power to achieve the stability of the frontier and the integration of the nation, reflecting the ancient concept of governance in the idea of benevolence.

Character depth analysis

Liu Bei: The King of Benevolence

Liu Bei was portrayed as a generous and benevolent monarch, and as a "Han clan relative", with the banner of "benevolence", he attracted a group of loyal and capable generals. Its personality charm lies in its "people-oriented" concept of governance, although its strength is weak, but with its noble moral character and firm ideals and beliefs, it won the hearts of the people and established the Shu Han regime.

Cao Cao: Ransei Xiong

Cao Cao is the most controversial character in the book, known as "the able minister who rules the world, and the traitor of troubled times". He is not only eloquent and strategic, but also good at using soldiers, but also has deep scheming and ambition. "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" has largely strengthened his negative image, such as the selfishness and ruthlessness of "I would rather bear others than others", but in fact, Cao Cao was also a writer and politician, and made indelible contributions to the unification of the north and the promotion of social development.

Sun Quan: The overlord of Jiangdong

Sun Quan inherited the foundation of his father and brother, sat down in the southeast at a young age, and stabilized the regime of Eastern Wu by virtue of the natural danger of the Yangtze River. He is good at employing people, such as Zhou Yu, Lu Su, Lu Xun, etc., which reflects his leadership wisdom. Sun Quan's steadiness and long-term vision enabled Soochow to maintain a relatively stable situation among the Three Kingdoms.

Zhuge Liang: The embodiment of wisdom

Zhuge Liang is the representative of the wise man in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, known for his outstanding political talents, military strategies, and inventions (such as the wooden ox and flowing horse). His "dedication and death" have become a symbol of loyalty and wisdom, and stories such as "borrowing arrows from a straw boat" and "borrowing the east wind" are not lacking in artistic exaggeration, but they profoundly demonstrate his ability to strategize.
