Dream of the Red Chamber, the pinnacle of classical Chinese literature, is known as a treasure of Chinese culture for its profound ideological content, rich group portraits, delicate psychological depictions and unique artistic style. The "original sigh" (Yuanchun, Yingchun, Tanchun, and Cherishing Spring) in the book symbolizes the tragic fate of aristocratic women, reflecting the low status and constraints of women at that time.
At the same time, the work profoundly exposes the hypocrisy and cruelty of feudal etiquette, such as the concept of marriage of "golden and jade good relationship", and through the decay of the Jia family, it hints at the decay and irretrievability of the entire feudal system. In addition, the book also touches on multiple social issues such as the patriarchal system, bureaucratic corruption, and economic decline, reflecting the author's deep insight and criticism of reality.
