Recently, there have been discussion articles on DSLR cameras on many social platforms, the most common being Nikon D850 and Canon 5D4.

Recently, many people have been nostalgic for SLR, what's wrong?

Although I am currently using a Nikon D850, I have to talk about it from an objective point of view. As described by many people in the comment area,In terms of image quality,NikonD850It's still very capable of playing,Even in the face of Z8 and Z9,There are still advantages,But the shortcomings are prominent,For example, volume,Video focus is too bad,Especially after Z9After upgrading the firmware several times,The advantage of mirrorless in focusing has been further expanded。

At present, in overseas markets, especially in the United States and Japan, the sales of SLR cameras are basically stagnant or even off the shelves. Recently, I'm going to take advantage of the crazy depreciation of the yen,Upgrade the fuselage to Z9,Although the price I finally heard is not cheaper than in China,But I got another information that,It's more difficult to buy D850 in Japan now,It's more difficult to buy other SLRs,Dealers don't have inventory,Some of them are on discount promotions,What's more difficult to buy is the F-mount lens,Even if it's a big three yuan,It's common to be out of stock。

The fundamental reason for this situation is that sales have fallen too much and there is no money, so people don't want to take up funds. The speed of phasing out SLRs in overseas markets is much faster than that in China, although manufacturers say they have not stopped production.

What about the domestic market? Sales of mid-to-high-end SLR models stagnated, including Nikon's later final product, the D780, and Canon's best-selling only the 200D II, while the 5D4 and 6D2 were barely sellable.

At present, SLR transactions are concentrated in second-hand, and the cost performance is indeed too high and too cheap. Simply taking a photo, the same photo output effect, only one-third of the investment. Of course, on the other hand, the investment in mirrorless is still too high, so when Canon lets go of the RF mount, it is the final blow to the SLR.

The biggest variable in this year's mirrorless market is the domestic lens, which is too rolly. Earlier I wrote an article about the Nikon Z-mount domestic autofocus lens, and it was hard to imagine that there would be 30 pieces on sale, and all of them were large apertures. Although the coating technology is not too good, it is still easy to use, and the price is really cheap. In the second half of the year, the opening of the RF mount is a highlight, and Sigma also revealed to me that a large number of Z-mount lenses will be launched this year. Once the total cost of a mirrorless purchase comes down, there will be fewer people who will buy a new SLR.

SLR is an era.

I think there are a lot of loyal fans like me who are still sticking around, and maybe we're all waiting for an opportunity. As my friends and I said, one day if the machine is lost or broken, I may embrace the Z9 without hesitation.
