Beginning in the early hours of yesterday morning, the rain in Qinzhou, Guangxi Province "exploded", and in the hours from 3 o'clock in the morning to 8 o'clock this morning, there was a dense period of more than 40~50 mm of violent short-term heavy rainfall in 1 hour.
As of 10 a.m. yesterday, the 12-hour cumulative rainfall in Qinzhou has reached 227.6 mm, reaching the level of extremely heavy rainfall, even if the 24-hour cumulative rainfall of 213.2 mm according to 08-08, it has also set a new local single-day rainfall record in May.
According to the continental meteorological standards: (1) the total rainfall in 24 hours reaches more than 50 mm, and the total rainfall in 12 hours reaches more than 30 mm, which is heavy rain; (2) If the precipitation in 24 hours is greater than or equal to 100 mm, and the precipitation in 12 hours is greater than or equal to 70 mm, it is a heavy rainstorm; (3) If the precipitation in 24 hours is greater than or equal to 250 mm, and the precipitation in 12 hours is greater than or equal to 140 mm, it is a heavy rainstorm.
The people of Qinzhou, who woke up yesterday, found that the roads in the urban area had become "rivers", and there was serious waterlogging in the urban area, and many sections of the road were full of water up to the thighs.

To recap, the last time there was a heavy rainstorm was in Doumen, Guangdong (314.5 mm of rainfall in 24 hours from 08 to 08 hours) and Zhuhai (280.2 mm of rainfall in 24 hours from 08 to 08 hours) on May 4.
The recurrence of the extremely heavy rain also indicates that the weakening period of rainfall in the south in the past few days has ended, and a new round of precipitation intensive period of nearly 10 days will be opened, and the intensity of precipitation will also increase.
With the cold air gradually pushing southward, the core area of rain began to move eastward and pressure southwards yesterday. It is expected that from yesterday night to tomorrow, there will be the heaviest period of this round of rain.
It is expected that from yesterday night to the 12th, there will be heavy rain or torrential rain and local heavy rain in parts of the eastern part of southwest China, Jiangnan, South China and other places, with a cumulative precipitation of 30-80 mm and a local 100-150 mm. This round of rainfall in the south will still be dominated by convective precipitation, and some areas in Guizhou, Hunan, Jiangxi, Hubei and other places will be accompanied by short-term heavy precipitation, with a maximum hourly precipitation of 30-60 mm and a local excess of 70 mm.
Starting on the 12th, the rain will be significantly southerly, and there will still be moderate to heavy rain in parts of southern China.
On the 13th, there was a short interval in rainfall, and on the 14th-15th, a new round of large-scale rain will appear, and it is expected that Guizhou to the south of the Yangtze River, South China and other places will usher in moderate to heavy rain from west to east, local heavy rain or heavy rain.
There was another round of rain in the southern region around the 18th.
In general, there will still be more rainfall in the south in the next ten days, with large cumulative rainfall and strong short-term rainfall in some areas, so it is necessary to pay attention to the secondary disasters that may be caused by the superposition of rainfall.
South China, which has been raining significantly before, will continue to be a rain-prone area in the next ten days, and the sun that everyone is looking forward to is still far away.
In the longer term, the South China Sea summer monsoon is about to break out in mid-to-late May, and there may be stronger and more water vapor surging ashore in the future...
