The U.S. Labor Department's April non-farm payrolls report, in which the U.S. non-farm payrolls increased by 175,000 in April, significantly lower than the expected 240,000, the U.S. unemployment rate in April was 3.9%, higher than the expected 3.8%, and the increase in wages was also lower than expected, rising 3.9% from a year earlier, compared with a 4.1% increase in March.
The non-farm payrolls data eased expectations that inflation will continue to rise to some extent. Crude oil prices fell for four consecutive days
