The Tetris design team presents BPER Banca's headquarters in Milan, Italy. At a time when the Group is constantly evolving and undergoing significant changes, BPER Banca wanted to implement a new workplace strategy at its new headquarters in the prestigious Diamantino building.
The goal was to create a flexible, efficient and sustainable work environment that supports employee performance, optimizes the digital experience, and fosters greater employee engagement and a sense of belonging to the company culture.
The design team worked with JLL's Project & Development Services and Workplace Strategy teams to provide clients with expert space strategy throughout their transformation journey, developing new design guidelines for workspaces and demonstrating BPER Banca's ambition and unique employee experience.
Spread over four floors, the design team created a modern, sophisticated look and feel for the new headquarters that conveys the brand's values and solidity. The designers combine the typical job requirements of a banking institution with the latest trends in the field of work, putting the well-being of individuals and their needs first. This framework builds on a vibrant, connected, open space that fosters human connection, enhancing a sense of belonging, work experience, and relationships.
The concept of the "Smart Workplace" is the basis of this workplace strategy, which is spatially distributed to meet the needs of the company's activities. The use of space is ABW-oriented, including shared areas in open spaces and non-designated workstations. To optimize the digital experience and make space more efficient, meeting rooms and workstations have been equipped with digital reservation systems, as well as state-of-the-art audio/video equipment, to enhance the team's comfort of working both on-site and remotely, fostering more interaction and teamwork.
This project provides a variety of scenarios and support for group work, individual activities, formal and informal behaviors, such as meeting rooms of all sizes, office and meeting spaces, phone booths, and work coffee bars, so that people can choose the most suitable environment according to their work needs, so that employees can enjoy the most comfortable work experience every working day.
By incorporating biophilic elements, using organic materials, textures and graphics, and focusing on the acoustic performance of the space, natural lighting, and the use of neutral tones (interspersed with green and orange accents), all of this aims to create a positive, welcoming, stylish, and energetic working atmosphere.
The result was a flexible, sustainable work environment that met the needs of a diverse workforce and fostered the advancement and development of hybrid work models while focusing on individual health and well-being, respect for the planet, and technological innovation. All of this will help companies achieve their environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals, while also attracting and retaining top talent with excellent environmental strategies.
