Eddie Redmayne (born 6 January 1982 in London) is a British actor and theatre actress. He is a member of the British National Youth Theatre Company.

Redmayne has 2 brothers, 1 non-brother and 1 non-sister.
He attended the British aristocratic boys' school Eaton and was a classmate of Prince William.
Redmayne took the stage at the age of 12 in London's West End. During his studies at Eton College and cambridge university, he also performed at the National Youth Theatre.
In 2002 he starred in The Twelve Nights at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre at London's Middle Temple Hall, making his first lead role.
After graduating in art history at Trinity College, Cambridge in 2003, he took a job at a bar and began interviewing for more plays.
In 2006, Redmayne played Alex Forbes in the crime film Empathy.
In 2006, Redmayne played Edward Wilson Jr in the film Secret Agent starring Matt Damon and Angelina Jolie, which followed the spectacular life of Edward Wilson, one of the founders of the CIA.
In 2007, Redmayne starred in the film Labyrinth of Desire, playing Tony, the son of Julian Moore, which tells the story of the shocking scandal of the Baikland family in London, which was revealed after his son stabbed his mother to death, causing a strong shock in society.
In 2008, Redmayne played William Stafford in Scarlett Johansson's film The Other Pauline's Girl, which focuses on the fact that when two girls in the Pollyn family kill each other for the king's love, Britain is also in a crisis of disintegration.
In 2008, Redmayne became the face of Burberry.
On November 23, 2011, Redmayne starred in the film "My Week with Monroe", in which he played a young Colin Clark who had an affair with Monroe.
On February 28, 2013, the film "Les Misérables" starring Redmayne was released in China. He played Marius in the film, for which he received two nominations for the MTV Film Awards – Most Breakthrough Performance Nomination and Teen Choice Award – Best Actor in a Love Movie and Best Rising Star in a Breakthrough Movie.
In 2013, he decided to join the film "The Theory of Everything", playing scientist Stephen Hawking, and won the 87th Academy Awards, Golden Globe Awards and British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards for Best Actor.
In 2014, Redmayne joined the film "Danish Girl" as the world's first person to undergo sex reassignment surgery, and in December 2015, he was nominated for the 22nd Screen Actors Guild Awards for Best Actor for "Danish Girl".
On November 18, 2016, the Harry Potter spin-off film "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" starring Redmayne was released in North America and released in China on the 25th, telling the thrilling adventure story of the magical zoologist Newt Scamander who left Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in order to find and protect magical animals and set foot in New York.
