Asylum seekers deported to Rwanda have lost contact with each other, and teachers at Winchester College have sexually assaulted students

According to British media reports, the Home Office is now unable to locate more than half of the asylum seekers assigned to Rwanda, based on the government's own impact assessment.

It is reported that nearly 6,000 people will receive a "notice of intent" indicating that their asylum applications will not be accepted, but only more than 2,000 will be traced, which also means that the Rwanda plan promoted by the Sunak government has been further blocked.

Sunak's government has been working to restrict immigration, especially to stop illegal immigration, and is trying to send asylum seekers to a third country, Rwanda. In order to achieve this plan, they overcame many difficulties and faced constant doubts. He had recently announced that the first flights to Rwanda would depart by July, and now it was clear that they were experiencing new difficulties.

The Rwandan government has agreed to accept 5,700 asylum seekers from the UK "in principle", the UK Home Office claims in a new document, but they admit that only 2,143 are currently enrolled in regular registration and have addresses that can be found.

It is unclear whether the 3,557 missing asylum seekers went underground to avoid deportation or if there was something else.

As a result of the UK's approach to asylum seekers, Ireland has become a new destination for them.

Ireland's justice minister, Helen McEntee, said last week that more than 80% of recent arrivals to Ireland were from the land border with Northern Ireland, suggesting that the UK's Rwandan plan had already acted as a deterrent after it finally became law last week, causing migrants to choose to travel to Ireland rather than the UK.

To tackle this hot potato, Ireland has pledged to enact emergency legislation that will enable it to return asylum seekers to the UK.

Winchester School scandal

A former teacher at the prestigious Winchester School was reportedly accused of sexually harassing a male student.

Taylor, 78, who taught English and drama at the college between 1990 and 2013, is reported to have misbehaved including touching a student and even sharing a bed with him.

Subsequently, Taylor denied both allegations.

While the case was being heard in the Winchester Criminal Court in Hampshire, prosecutor Tim Moores said the alleged offences occurred in the mid-2000s.

"In short, the complainant was a student at Winchester College, and Simon Taylor, a teacher at the school, had been working there for many years. He is the head of the Department of Drama and has previously taught Prosecutor English during his GCSE. ”

The student had some psychological problems, was often emotionally stressed, and had some academic difficulties, so he often went to the teacher's house for tea and chat.

The students claimed that during certain visits, when they were sitting on the couch, the defendant would lean over and kiss him on the lips while putting his arm around him.

Winchester College is a well-known school in the UK, famous for its elite education, and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also studied here. The former teacher has now been acquitted and has been released following the verdict of the Winchester Criminal Court.
