It turned out that the Singapore Police Force, Civil Defence Force, ICA and Armed Forces were holding joint counter-terrorism exercises from 10am today to 3am tomorrow at various locations including MRT stations in the city centre, across the island, and at Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints.
Empty ammunition will be used during the exercises
During the exercise, the military and police will use empty ammunition at two locations, Orchard Grove and Sentosa.
Over the past few years, Singapore has held several counter-terrorism exercises across the island, codenamed "Polaris".
In 1997, Singapore launched its first Polaris exercise. The earliest ones simulated large-scale civil disasters, such as hazardous chemical leaks and fires, refinery fires, plane crashes, etc. Later, as the global anti-terrorism situation became more and more severe, the main subjects of the exercise were gradually adjusted to counter-terrorism.

On 25 May (Saturday), the Singapore Tianfu Association will organise a National Service themed sharing event, with director Leung Chee Keung sharing his military experience and creative experience, and Tianfu Club children and their parents sharing their service experience and journey, as well as a screening of "The Story of the Recruit 3".
