On May 1, the waters of our province entered the marine off-season fishing period. In order to create a good atmosphere for the fishing moratorium in the off-season, protect the marine ecological environment, and promote the construction of marine ecological civilization, recently, the coast guard bureaus in many places in Fujian have carried out in-depth publicity on the popularization of the law on the 2024 marine off-season fishing moratorium.

In addition, in order to ensure the smooth implementation of the fishing moratorium, the Fujian Provincial Marine and Fishery Law Enforcement Corps organized law enforcement agencies at the provincial, municipal and county levels to continue to promote the "one inspection and two strict management" 100-day campaign with strict investigation of fishing-related "three nos" vessels, strict management of fishing-related township vessels, and strict management of registered fishing vessels.

Cruising 100,000 nautical miles rooted in the front line of law enforcement

Recently, the China Maritime Surveillance 8002 ship under the Fujian Provincial Marine and Fishery Law Enforcement Corps carried out a 100-day operation of "one inspection and two strict management" in Fuzhou waters. Captain Qiu Weihua once again led the crew to carry out sea patrol and law enforcement work.

China's maritime surveillance ship 8002 recently carried out a 100-day attack on the "one inspection and two strict management" operation in the waters of Fuzhou

Qiu Weihua, 49, has been fighting on the ocean and fisheries law enforcement front for 15 years. In the past 15 years, he has not forgotten his original intention, adhered to the sonorous oath of "guarding the sea and frontier for the country" when he joined the company, and has been rooted in the forefront of maritime law enforcement all year round. Qiu Weihua said: "To solve problems on the front line and ask for solutions from the front line, we have gone deep into the front line of fishing areas and fishing ports to understand the key and difficult problems of the current marine off-season fishing moratorium law enforcement and supervision, and severely crack down on all kinds of violations of the off-season fishing moratorium." ”

After graduating in 2000, Qiu Weihua honed his skills on ocean-going merchant ships and accumulated profound sailing experience. In 2010, he resolutely gave up his high salary to devote himself to marine and fishery law enforcement in Fujian Province. Faced with the operation process of law enforcement vessels, which is very different from that of merchant ships, he humbly learned and quickly mastered the technique of approaching and leaving. In 2016, with his unremitting efforts, he was promoted to the captain of the law enforcement vessel, becoming the backbone of the front line of maritime law enforcement.

Qiu Weihua studied with an open mind

From the East China Sea to the South China Sea, he has accumulated more than 1,800 days and nights of sea cruises, and a long voyage of more than 100,000 nautical miles, dedicating the best time of his life to the arduous and glorious cause of guarding the sea and protecting fisheries.

It is understood that in the early morning of March 13, 2020, Captain Qiu Weihua led the China Maritime Surveillance 8002 ship to discover an illegal sand mining ship sailing near the White Dog Islands. In the face of the violent resistance to the law by the sand mining crew with iron rods, Qiu Weihua calmly and decisively approached the ship at a critical moment, and the law enforcement officers quickly boarded the ship to subdue him and severely punished him according to law.

Build a fortress on the sea and defend the sea frontier for the country

In the face of violent resistance to the law at sea, Qiu Weihua never flinched and repeatedly solved difficult cases; he went all out for maritime search and rescue, and never gave up lightly.

Qiu Weihua has been ordered to carry out maritime rights protection patrol law enforcement tasks for many times, and with excellent navigation technology and rich law enforcement experience, he has led the team to overcome many difficulties and successfully complete various tasks, making outstanding contributions to defending the country's maritime rights and interests.

The crew of China Maritime Surveillance Ship 8002 told reporters: "I am deeply affected by Captain Qiu Weihua's hard work and enterprising spirit, and we will follow his example and actively participate in marine and fishery law enforcement work." ”

In 2022, Qiu Weihua, captain of the law enforcement vessel of the Fujian Provincial Marine and Fishery Law Enforcement Corps, was awarded the title of "Civil Servant with People's Satisfaction" in the country. Qiu Weihua's law enforcement ship has won many awards such as "National Youth Civilization" and "National Worker Pioneer".
