The May Day holiday is approaching, and the civil aviation industry is ushering in a small peak of travel. From May 1 to 5, China Eastern Airlines plans to launch more than 14,700 flights, an increase of 8.5% over last year, and the number of seats will reach 2,501,800.

Eligible passengers can check in and check in their baggage at one station at the point of departure

China Eastern Airlines Guangdong Branch will start today (30th) to open the domestic to international "connecting check-in and baggage check-in" service via Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.

From that day onwards, if the scheduled departure time of the subsequent flight is before 3 a.m. the next day and the transfer time is more than 120 minutes, passengers can get a two-way boarding pass at the departure station and hang their baggage directly to the destination station without having to re-check in and check in their baggage.

After arriving at Baiyun Airport, the transfer attendant will pick up the passengers and guide them to the entrance of the China Eastern Airlines Transfer Lounge on the third floor of the East Third Finger Corridor, and guide the passengers to the middle passage between the domestic security check and the international security check according to the domestic to international transfer signs, and then go through customs and border inspection to arrive at the international departure gate.

At present, the "connecting check-in and baggage check-in" service is temporarily not open to special passengers such as unaccompanied minors, unaccompanied elderly, sick passengers, oxygen passengers, stretcher passengers, etc., and does not accept the interline transportation of special baggage such as small animals, valuables, precision instruments, fresh items, sports firearms and ammunition.

Overtime has been added and the aircraft type has been changed to "large" to serve the travel needs of passengers

During the five-day holiday, travel is the "main force" of air consumption. According to data from China Eastern Airlines, routes with high load factor in South China include Guangzhou to Kunming, Xi'an, Dali, Diqing Shangri-La, Nanchang, Taizhou and Lijiang, and Shenzhen to Wuhan, Kunming, Nanchang and Chongqing. China Eastern Airlines has also arranged overtime flights on Kunming-Cangyuan, Wuhan-Jieyang, Chaoshan and other routes.

The five-day holiday also attracts a large number of tourists to travel abroad. China Eastern has recently added and resumed a number of international and regional routes, including Shanghai Pudong-Bangkok, Wuhan-Bangkok, Taiyuan-Bangkok, Shanghai Pudong-Phuket, Beijing Daxing-Kuala Lumpur, Wuhan-Kuala Lumpur, Lanzhou-Hong Kong, Yantai-Linyi-Hong Kong, Shanghai Pudong-Riyadh, Xi'an-Moscow, Shanghai Pudong-Tokyo Haneda, Shanghai Pudong-Osaka, Shanghai Pudong-Nagoya, Shanghai Pudong-Fukuoka, Shanghai Pudong-Shizuoka, Shanghai Pudong-Toyama, Xi'an-Tokyo Narita, and Qingdao-Tokyo Narita.

During this year's "May Day" period, China Eastern Airlines actively carried out the "small to large" deployment of aircraft types, expanded flight capacity, and mainly increased investment in Japan, Southeast Asia and other surrounding outbound travel markets, as well as popular long-distance tourism markets such as Auckland, Rome and Madrid. For the domestic tourist hotspot market, China Eastern Airlines has also made dynamic adjustments, replacing its routes such as Beijing Daxing, Shanghai, Xi'an, Kunming and Hangzhou from narrow-body aircraft to wide-body aircraft in Guangzhou, and Beijing Daxing, Xi'an, Kunming and Tianfu routes from narrow-body aircraft to wide-body aircraft in Shenzhen.

Come to Shanghai to take a China Eastern Airlines flight, and you can "free your hands" when you get off the high-speed rail

In January this year, China Eastern Airlines opened the "China Eastern Airlines Intermodal Transfer Service Center" about 50 meters from the North and South Exit No. 2 of the arrival layer of Shanghai Hongqiao Station. Passengers who take the high-speed rail to Shanghai to take the Pudong and Hongqiao T2 flights of China Eastern Airlines (including Shanghai Airlines) can get a boarding pass and check in their luggage at the transfer center as soon as they get off the high-speed rail, and go to the flight "free of their hands", and even arrange a relaxing Shanghai "CITY Walk" for themselves before the flight departs.

The "China Eastern Airlines Intermodal Transfer Service Center" is open from 7:30 to 22:30 every day, and the deadline for handling related business is 1.5 hours before the departure of flights departing from Hongqiao T2 and 3.5 hours before the departure of flights departing from Pudong Airport.
