With the May Day holiday approaching, China Southern Airlines Group (April 30 to May 6) plans to work overtime for more than 900 flights and nearly 19,000 flights to ensure passenger travel.

Domestically, China Southern Airlines is expected to increase its capacity by more than 600 flights on 42 routes, including Dali, Lijiang, Nanchong, Yangzhou, Changde and Guilin, mainly in markets with strong demand for tourism and homecoming, such as southwest China, east China and central south. Before and after May Day, China Southern Airlines will have more than 580 domestic inbound and outbound flights per day at its Guangzhou hub and more than 300 domestic inbound and outbound flights at its Beijing hub, providing greater convenience for passengers' holiday travel. In addition, in order to alleviate the pressure of the superimposed passenger flow of Guangzhou's "May Day" travel and the return passenger flow of the Canton Fair, China Southern Airlines will launch wide-body aircraft on routes from Guangzhou to Chengdu, Hangzhou, Xi'an and other routes, with an average daily increase of nearly 30,000 seats.

Internationally, visa-free countries, especially Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia, remain hot spots for travel. China Southern Airlines will focus on increasing flights from Guangzhou to Bangkok, Phuket and Ho Chi Minh City, and encrypting routes from Guangzhou to Nha Trang and Manila. The number of trips from Guangzhou to Bangkok has increased to 12 per day, to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur to 8 per day, and to Ho Chi Minh City, Phnom Penh and Hanoi to 6 per day. During the "May Day" period, China Southern Airlines plans to carry out more than 1,000 flights on Southeast Asian routes. In terms of Japan and South Korea, a total of about 400 flights will be launched during the "May Day" period, and the main routes are Dalian, Shenyang, Shanghai, Guangzhou to Seoul, Guangzhou and Shanghai to Tokyo and Osaka. In the direction of Australia and New Zealand, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland are the main destinations. In addition, China Southern Airlines continued to deepen its connectivity with Belt and Road countries, and launched new routes from Beijing Daxing to Riyadh and Guangzhou to Doha in April.

China Southern Airlines has achieved 100% self-service check-in and online check-in on all domestic flights departing from its Guangzhou hub. At the same time, China Southern Airlines will also strengthen the guidance of self-service check-in and self-service check-in services to reduce queuing and waiting time.
