In order to save Netanyahu, Biden fought hard, and Putin's "crime" should also be cleared

author:Professor Cao Xing

In order to save Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, the White House publicly declared that the International Criminal Court (ICC) has no authority to issue arrest warrants.

The ICC is considering Netanyahu's arrest

Recently, the ICC may be considering issuing arrest warrants for Netanyahu and several other senior Israeli officials in connection with the investigation into Israeli operations in the Gaza Strip.

The ICC is an independent organization, the body "is conducting an independent investigation into the situation in Palestine", and "the arrest of Netanyahu" was considered without US interference.

Israel attacked the Gaza Strip and committed "war crimes", and the people of the world knew it, and this time even the International Court of Justice could not stand it and wanted to deal with Netanyahu in accordance with the law.

The world is watching to see whether the ICC will eventually issue an arrest warrant, a decision that will affect Israel's future diplomatic relations, international standing, and interaction with ICC member states.

At the same time, Netanyahu takes this very seriously and has called President Joe Biden "non-stop" to seek intervention and support from the US government to stop this move by the ICC.

At first, Biden couldn't read it back, making the outside world think that Netanyahu was not saved this time, but after a day of silence, Biden still chose to "save" Netanyahu.

The White House said the ICC does not have the authority to issue arrest warrants for Israeli officials.

In fact, the White House's argument is not unreasonable: the ICC is only valid for member states, Israel is not a member of the organization, and even if the ICC can issue an arrest warrant, it will be very difficult to enforce the order, especially without the cooperation of the relevant countries.

However, with Putin's experience, the White House's statement is a naked "double standard".

The International Court of Justice issued an arrest warrant for Putin

Previously, the ICC issued an arrest warrant for Putin in response to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

It is reported that there are 123 member states that have joined the ICC, but the three major countries of China, the United States and Russia are not on its list.

In other words, in the end, the International Court of Justice only issued an arrest warrant for Putin, but did not actually arrest Putin.

However, the incident caused inconvenience to Putin's foreign visit, because as soon as Putin stepped into the territory of the ICC member states, he had to hand it over to the ICC, so after the arrest warrant was issued, Putin only went to China and North Korea, and did not even attend the BRICS meeting in South Africa.

Recently, the German Ministry of Justice also said that as soon as Putin enters Germany, he will be arrested immediately according to the arrest warrant of the International Court of Justice in The Hague.

It can be said that this decree is not very hurtful and extremely insulting.

It is also worth mentioning that when Putin was given an ultimatum by the ICC, Biden said that the United States did not recognize the ICC, but supported the detailed evidence when they issued an ultimatum to arrest Putin.

For the same thing, the United States treats Putin and Netanyahu completely differently and is not convincing to the world.

However, according to Biden's statement now, the ICC has no right to arrest Netanyahu, so the ICC also has no right to arrest Putin, does it mean that Putin will be able to travel to various countries without restrictions in the future?

According to this logic, Putin may be the winner of the White House's statement.

The United States is already in turmoil

Having said that, since the beginning of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the United States has been wiping Israel's ass, and until now, the United States has been unable to control Israel.

For Israel's sake, the United States is now in a mess.

Recently, a huge wave of "anti-Israeli" protests has erupted within many universities in the United States.

The fuse of the protests is closely related to Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip, and the student body expressed strong dissatisfaction and opposition to Israel's policies, called on the international community to pay attention to the situation of the Palestinian people, and demanded that the US government re-examine its policy of support for Israel.

[Demonstrations broke out in the United States]

The students' protests included demonstrations, public speeches, social media campaigns, and more, chanting slogans such as "Free Palestine" and demanding that Israel end its occupation and respect the rights of the Palestinian people.

The U.S. government has arrested thousands of students in an effort to suppress protests, but the situation has not improved.

As a last resort, the US State Department openly expressed its "strong opposition" to Israel's plan to expand Jewish settlements in the West Bank, which was unprecedented in the past.

However, judging from the current behavior of the United States, the US government has not learned from the experience and is still supporting Israel and angering the people.

If this continues, I am afraid that it will backfire on itself, especially at the critical time of the US election, Biden will ignore the interests of the people and may lose some votes.

And no matter how arrogant Israel continues, the United States will not be able to save him one day, and it is a matter of time before the international community comes up with tough measures to deal with him.
