On April 30, the "2024 Capital Citizen Garden Festival" with the theme of "Hello, Garden City" is being staged in Longtan Zhonghu Park, Dongcheng District, which is located in the functional core area of the capital, and citizens and friends from 32 garden-style communities in the city are presenting 32 emerald and elegant civic gardens to visitors with community gardeners.
Under the Ferris wheel full of urban memories, the Capital Landscaping Achievement Exhibition leads the public to witness the green transformation from 10,000 acres of forests and seas to the city of a thousand gardens to benefit people's livelihood. The green Huimin platform composed of the Hundred Gardens Station outside the Aesthetics Museum attracts tourists and friends to "place orders on the spot" with the "Beijing Ecological Gift".
The event is the main venue of Longtan Zhonghu in Dongcheng District, and the member units of the Capital Greening Committee and relevant units have prepared more than 1,000 various horticultural activities in the city, which are wonderful throughout the year. The event will focus on the concept of co-construction and sharing of the garden city, based on the communities and parks around the citizens, highlight the participation of the citizens, invite the people to create their own designed gardens, feel the charm of the garden city, and achieve a beautiful picture of "everyone is a gardener, and all eyes are gardens".

The design plans of the main venue of this garden festival were all generated through online recruitment, including the garden plan carefully designed by the citizens and the more down-to-earth, small and beautiful balcony plan. Through fierce competition, 32 plans were finally selected for the on-site display and completed by the citizens and friends.
Among these gardens, there are "Flowers Through the Past and Present", which shows the green Beijing full of flowers and allows citizens to enjoy the beauty of nature, "Hand in Hand, Flowers All the Way" that reflects the perspective of the people and explores the co-construction and sharing of the community, and "Born to the Sun", a work by middle school students who are full of enthusiasm and spirit, although the themes are different, they all tell the beautiful life of the garden city. Visitors strolled through the garden and voted for the "most popular garden among citizens". During the exhibition, the organizers will also invite community residents of the 32 newly selected garden-style communities in 2023 to serve as volunteers to maintain the gardens and jointly explore the "Beijing Plan" of the Garden City.
The main venue also held the "Capital Greening and Beautification and Garden City Construction Achievement Exhibition". It will show the citizens the phased results of the capital's greening and beautification work, the overall planning and progress of the construction of the garden city, tell the story behind the construction of the garden city, and look forward to the bright future of the garden city with the citizens.

On the day of the event, the main venue and the horticultural stations in Dongcheng, Xicheng, Chaoyang, Haidian, Fengtai, Shijingshan, Tongzhou and Shunyi districts also jointly launched the "Thousands of Pots" activity. Professionals will lead the community to learn about floriculture and give flower seedlings to the neighbors. After everyone's careful care, it is expected that at the end of September, all kinds of flowers cultivated by more than 1,000 citizens in the city will appear on Chang'an Street, becoming a beautiful scenery in the capital. In order to lower the threshold for gardening to enter the family, the Office of the Capital Greening Committee promoted horticultural experts to enter the community, launched the "community gardener" system, and issued letters of appointment to the first batch of 7 community gardeners on the spot.
