- First of all, you can call China Railway Express (95572) to find out whether the departure and arrival stations can handle pet consignment business. At present, the mainland high-speed rail and bullet trains cannot handle pet consignment, and only some ordinary speed trains can handle it.

Pets must not weigh more than 20 kg.
Pets with a check-in distance of less than 200 kilometers and no feeding needs can be checked in directly, and pets with a check-in distance of more than 200 kilometers or feeding needs need to be escorted with the car, and passengers need to purchase tickets with the pet to arrive at the destination together (the above requirements are subject to the actual situation and regulations of the consulting station).
- Secondly, after confirming that the station can handle the consignment business, you need to get an animal quarantine certificate for the pet, which can generally be handled at the local animal epidemic prevention station.
- Finally, bring your ID card and animal quarantine certificate, arrive at the business window of the consignment hall of the station before the train starts, and go through the consignment and escort procedures.

Why are there two gates, A and B?
The division of ticket gates into A and B is related to the length of the train group
Take EMU trains as an example:
There are 8 carriages
There are 16 carriages
There are also 8+8=16 car reconnected trains
In the case of an 8-car EMU, the ticket will be cleared at the ticket gate closer to the train depending on the parking location.
In the case of a 16-car EMU, both A and B ticket gates will be opened.
For example, if Gate A corresponds to cars 1 to 8, then Gate B corresponds to cars 9 to 16, and tickets can be checked on both sides. Passengers can follow the instructions on the ticket gate and choose the ticket gate near their own car to check in and board the train.
The large screen in the waiting room shows Gate A, can I enter the station through Gate B?
When both sides of the station are open at the same time, both sides can be checked and released.

Smoking is strictly prohibited in the carriages of ordinary passenger trains, and smoking points are currently available on some trains at the doors or at the junction of the carriages. According to the relevant provisions of the "Regulations on the Administration of Railway Safety" (Order No. 639 of the State Council), anyone who smokes on EMU trains or smokes in non-smoking areas of other trains shall be ordered by the public security organs to make corrections and imposed a fine of not less than 500 yuan but not more than 2,000 yuan.
